Nobody dominated, it was a horizontal game of Plinko in the midfield marred with faults and a ref who left his cards in his car, parked in front of his home, the same place where the players left their lust, drive and skill.

Honestly, yeah Balo was partially to blame, but I think more of it should be put on Hendo. He doesn't follow Costa whatsoever, forcing Balo to choose between Costa and Ivanovic, and I think he made the right choice following the top goal scorer in the league. If you watch the replay, Henderson and Lucas aren't marking anyone. But I agree, Balo needs to prove that he can be consistent. I really want him to succeed, even as a Chelsea fan.

That being said, Costa is a massive cunt, at least one deliberate stamp today, the other was arguable, and he pulled Gerrard down. I'm glad he's our cunt though.

it was such a good game. one of the best of the season so far. i so glad we got the win but liverpool played so well and i can see them hitting the 13/14 forum soon. coutinho will be one of there best players this season.
if costa wasn't a chelsea player i would hate him! but I'm biased and don't defend any of what he did.

the ref made some bad calls for both teams. i can think of at least 1 pen and 2 red cards but overall it was a wicked game that had my heart pounding.

The Atletico-Barca Game looked like it had everything:

1 Torres Goal
2 atletico red cards
Arda throwing his shoe at a lineman
Jordi Alba getting hit by the linesman and then crumbling like a bitch

I wish I could've seen it.

Hard to say that rangers are even on the rise again. They just can't shake their economic trouble and it's gonna drag them down every time.

Good day for a Chelsea fan. Even though we didn't play great we got the 3 points, City tied at Hull and Hurrikane got points on Arsenal. Also nice to see Atletico destroy Real and Dortmund out of the bottom of the table with a good 3-0 win.

well played by the spurs today. theyre definitely looking better under MP. cant really complain about getting beat by a less competent side. great goal by kane. coquelin continues to impress along with ospina. really needed those points. sanchez coming back and welbeck healthy will help a lot.

the right side of our d was being mauled by rose today. welbeck had way too much ground to cover and bellerin did well but they needed more support.

Part of me wants to see them relegated, but win the Champions league so that there is a 2nd division team in the CL next year. But on the other hand, I like Klopp, Reus, Hummels, and Aubamayang so I hope they can finish upper mid-table after finding some form.

Sauls was fucked, and its good to see Torres with an assist.

All the Van Gaal hate from former players is fucking annoying. I'm talking specifically about Scholes (one of the least intelligent people ever to get repeat appearances on TV, somehow to the British football fan that's a positive achievement) saying their style 'does not respect United traditions'.

So. Fucking. What.

United had an absolutely shit team, and in some respects they still do. And they're 3rd. Also, in seasons before City won the league the first time under Mancini they played extremely boring football. They were slow, prioritised defenidng, didn't concede many but they didn't score many either. Also Chelsea last season, defense was the priority. They weren't a fun team to watch as a neutral, but this season they're clear favourites (second best defense as well). Same happened with City in their first title season, 1st match out won 4-0, that wasn't the only big win they had that season. Their defense was the best in the league that year, and by a long way.

So there's a clear pattern here: when building strong and successful attacking teams, play boring football. The only reason I can see why you'd complain about a team being boring (and third) is you can't see beyond the next Thursday.

^I totally agree with you. People who shit on playing styles usually do so after a direct loss, or are just revisionist romantics. It's rich hearing for example a Real Madrid fan talk about Atletico's anti football, budget and players obviously mean they can't go at them head on because 9 times out of 10 they would lose. At the end of the day this sport is about winning, even if some styles are more eye pleasing than others. And I'm well aware Mourinho has done it (Big Sam's 19th century football), it's more acceptable from managers though because usually it's to shift blame from their own club's underwhelming performance.

On the other hand up until recently Van Gaal's results have been pretty poor despite spending a huge amount of money in the transfer window. I think he definitely deserves some criticism based on results alone. Also hilarious to see him bust out a stats report at that press conference to defend himself, kind of childish but fair play to him that's just who he is.
