it would be neat to see bale back in the EPL but in all honesty united don't need another winger (di Maria doesn't seem to be starting often), they should spend the money on better defence. though I have been impressed with mcnair in the games he's played in ahah

Can't imagine Bale goes to Manchester United this season. Ancelotti has the perfect squad right now (when all healthy) and I cannot imagine he will want to tinker with it. Keylor Navas needs to play more games before he can be written off and a new goalie signed.

Di Maria has been hit with the injury bug as of late, that is why he is not starting. Defense is a big hole in the Man U team right now, and that is why I cannot imagine they would be willing to sign Bale while giving up cash+De Gea. De Gea is one of the top 3 goalies this season and is one of the few consistent players on the team.

Defence was a big hole for Man U during the last window yet Van Gaal still decided to dish out on players like Falcao. I don't think he will sell De Gea, it was a rumour after all. And even more rumours about transfers (Dutch players to Man U are the ones I picked up on).

Lost this thread for ages......Anyway
Mertesacker is a different player when paired with Koscielny. Also we made it hard for ourselves in the end because we didn't finish our chances earlier in the game.

Mertesacker is a different player when paired with Koscielny. Also we made it hard for ourselves in the end because we didn't finish our chances earlier in the game.


Didn't realize that west ham actually had a halfway decent keeper these days. Almost hard to believe it's a fat Sam team based on how they play.

Also a bit disappointing that west ham are leaving Upton park. Atmosphere there today seemed great.

fujaromeFrom what I've experienced, psg fans aren't actually as bad. Probably because unlike city or Chelsea, they were actually a decent side with a huge fan base prior to being bought, despite having a rough few years.


That's a dumb statement. Chelsea have been in the Premier League ever since its conception and were routinely a decent to good side before Abramovich's money. I do agree that they would not be where they are today without it though. It pushed them from upper-mid table(10th-5th) to success. The same cannot be said for city.

On another note, 3rd and 4th as well as the EL spots look very open with United, Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool, West Ham, and Southampton all challenging. 1st and 2nd are Chelsea and City for me, and it could go to either team. Liverpool had a great game against Swansea. Can, Coutinho, Moreno and Hendo all had good games. If they keep some kind of form, I would not be surprised if they maybe challenged for 4th providing United and Arsenal drop points. If they pick up a decent keeper (i.e Enyeama, Ochoa) and some better defenders, they will be a decent side.

I haven't had a chance to watch it (catching up on MOTD tonight) but 8 goals is pretty impressive. Also heard about Kane and I think he has potential to be a great england number 9. It's also crazy how city and chelsea are completely tied at the top of the table, creepy stuff.

CHEL5-3A gets me every time.

Arsenal was so shit this morning, they deserved nothing but to lose. Two awful defensive mistakes and two goals.

The Chelsea - Tottenham game was damn entertaining. Hazard is so fun to watch and Kane went off today. Mourinho is literally my least favorite person in this world though; everything he bitches about and does just gets to me. He makes me hate Chelsea more than Spurs.

Looks like Stevie G is off to LA Galaxy, a fantastic player for Liverpool but it is probably for the best for the team, his legs are going but he can pick a pass as well as anyone in the league

I thought there'd have been an announcement from Liverpool at least, seems as though its just slipped out.

As for Arsenal we were terrible today. It seemed as though our way to attack today was to cross balls into Sanchez, I think it would have worked with either Welbeck or Giroud but Sanchez just doesn't have the height. I was looking forward to heading down to the cup match on Sunday but now I'm a bit more apprehensive, especially with Hull winning rather convincingly today.....

What a game at white hart today. Kane is having a great season. Eriksen, Chadli and Fasio also played well today. Cahill, Terry and Ivanovic all played shitty today, Cahill looking like he could've gotten a red on three sleep rate times. Hazard was absolutely amazing though, contributed to all three of our goals. Our attack is toothless without him. IMO the best player in the league.

Glad to see arsenal, United and pool dropping points, but sad to see lampard gain city more points. It's become 7 points he's given them now. It was always gonna be tight with city from the beginning.

Liverpool will be saying goodbye to an all-time great at the end of the season. I'll miss Gerrard in a Liverpool kit, for sure. I'll never forget the 2005 Champion's League final - what a match! And Gerrard was the one that didn't want to give up at the half.

I just don't see him leaving Barcelona. He could very well move, but I doubt the big giveaway would be by following them online.

This is more of a power move or threat by Messi saying if things don't change I'm out. A Cule would know much more about the situation but it sounds like things are a but of a mess right now for Barca.

I don't really know what to make of it all but I reckon it will never happen, Messi leaving Barca. It's still fun to speculate though with his links to Adidas and Turkish airlines (both Chelsea sponsors). It would be insane to see him playing in blue under Mourinho.

And fair play to Gerrard, despite not winning the pl he's had a great career that deserves respect. He's not pulling a Lampard and mugging off to City, Terry or Drogba would never ha e done that.

Where was Yaya? Cup of Nations or is he injured? I've been very impressed with Coquelin, he's barely stepped a foot wrong in all of his starts. Its so nice seeing a clean sheet for once. Sanchez got shut down by Zabaleta but it was great to see the rest of the team step up and produce the points on a rare off-night for him.

in non-epl related news, Torres scored twice vs. Real Madrid the other day. Really happy for him, after all he's been through the last three years, and the way he's always continued to work hard, even when not playing well. Also happy because it means Real are out of the copa del rey.

Also, Ronaldo seems to have dumped Irina Shayk because she didn't go to/refused to go to Ronaldo's mother's birthday party. So awesome. Hard not to respect Ronaldo for a move like that.

Yeah he's at AFCON same with Bony. Arsenal got a lot right tactically, though, one of their best performances of the season.

Im really happy for Torres, he scored some big goals for us but overall was pretty much a let down, but I'm happy to see him do well at Atletico, even if it was for only one game. Those were some great finishes as well, hopefully it does well for his confidence and he can bag some more in the remainder of the season.

I have to disagree with you about Giroud. If what you mean by unnoticed is blowing lots of opportunities, sure, but just because he scores here and there does not mean he is at all good. He's a waste of a position in my opinion.

He doesn't blow that many opportunities, just doesn't create that many to begin with. A waste of a position though? That's harsh, he has been they key to Arsenal's success that past couple of years with his holdup/buildup style of play and his passing ability.

Any diehard football fans out there will know this match-up.

Ajax vs Feyenoord.

The Netherlands' most heated derby, the battle between the biggest clubs of the two largest cities; Amsterdam and Rotterdam is a fixture that has been infused with serious violence ever since the first meeting of the sides in 1921. It's the rich capital vs the humble dockworkers. Feyenoord supporters aren't welcome in the ArenA, haven't been for years and vice versa.

The match has already been marred by a fire - let's just say arson - in the supportershome of the die-hard Ajax supporters.
Quite coincidental considering this month is the 10 year anniversary of the last great fire in the Ajax supportershome.
