I remember there was a stock challenge a few years ago, but everyone lost interest because it dragged on for quite some time.

Would anyone be interested in doing another, but only for a month or so?

SourSteezlebeen trying to figure this one out myself, as I also have it in my own portfolio. Good jump back up today. The way I see it is there aren't too many huge competitors and it's such a consumer brand I just dont' see it going anywhere. I think it's a fairly safe investment with a chance to make some actual money. I'm thinking it'll either stay pretty even at the prices for the next year or so, but I'm really hoping 5-10 years down the line they're going for 90/share+


I think it's a safe investment but I'm not sure about growth. What do you see for the future product line?

And it's really sick some of you guys have real portfolios. I'm still trying to learn the ins and outs before I put my money on the line. Go pro has been my only real success haha. Any materials you guys recommend reading to learn how to trade better etc?

Ended up selling out of GoPro IRL at 69.97. IMO, really good sell.


I was in 3rd for the game here, tried to short BABA at 97-95. Went to lunch, apparently there was a 15 min delay on the order. So it shorted me at the IPO price... I shorted BABA at 68. And there goes my shot at winning. Fucking game glitched me to failure.

In hindsight, yes. But I took down a big gain. I was half half on what to do with it. I'm not sure I would have held on to it after a few of the big dips here and there. You never know what will happen with a stock, I knew I had a gain so I took it down.


What I should have done was bought back in at 65 when it leveld off after the drop form 70s.

It's still going on but it ends on October 31st so it's not really worth entering at this point. I'm down to make another one right now, we just have to get some other people in on it. Who else wants to get in on this?

Should I make it in Advanced or Normal mode? Advanced gives the ability to make limit orders, stop loss orders, and trade partial shares.

Happened to me during the BABA IPO. I was pissed because I ended up somehow shorting at IPO not at 95 like I wanted to. Lost it all, but then I got it all back. Back to #2 (Which is really #1 because the guy with the AAPL glitch.

So a stock split is when they reduce the price and increase the shares equally proportionate. That way your holding still has the same value but the price is lower, thus more attractive to a smaller investor who cant afford $300 a share.

To my knowledge, apple split 7:1. When they did, the shares were multiplied by 7 and price reduced by a multiple of 7. On MarketWatch the share ammout was multiplied but the value wasn't reduced. Thus resulting is a huge glitch, 7x the money basically. Most peoples got corrected, one guys didnt.

Make more sense?

Yea i sold 20 of my 50 gopro shares at around 88, made a shit load and im stoked. keeping the others for the long run but ive already profited so im happy.

Also im down for the new one, cause I didn't get in on the last one.

Look at the fundamentals...GOpro is insanely over valued. Unless they can turn into a full on media company I don't see the stock going much higher long term, if anything down to a more reasonable price. But that being said...look at how many other companies are way over valued right now. Won't change until FED raises rates to a normalized level that rewards savers/retirees

Talking about NFLX? Their earnings weren't what was expected and HBO announced today they are releasing a stand alone streaming service. So maybe that had something to do with it? Not necessarily rigged.


And if you are going to try and get a bounce back, I'd wait a bit. See how it reacts, you know.

Okay rigged was the wrong word, just doesn't make sense with reality. They beat earnings forecast with .96 per share, above the expected .93, generated 59 million in profit. However, they only added 3.05 million subscribers, well under the 3.69 million expected. With the news of HBO announcing a new service I could see it going down a little, but losing 7 billion in market value over the course of a few hours is a bit ridiculous.

As for the buying in, I'm not ballsy enough.
