Anyone have any first hand info on either of these? They would be my first pow skis.

I'd go for praxis. The ramp skis tend to be tanks, but I haven't heard a single complaint about praxis. Generally everyone who skis praxis raves about their skis.

The protest is the most fun ski I've ever ridden. Super quick and pivoty while being stable. It'll make huge high speed turns just as easily as a quick slarve to change direction change in the trees. The tip rocker is very long but a low rate of rise so it planes really well and doesn't push back like some steeper rocker profiles.
It has a ton of pop and feels light in the air for it's size. The construction is top notch too. I have around 40 days on them and they still look great. Praxis makes a damn good ski.

former employee of praxis speaking..
Praxis is a very small company out of lake Tahoe run by Kevin and Keith O'meara. They build bomber skis as far as big mountain pow skis are concerned. I have had my protests now for 3 years and they are holding up extremely well. A very burly ski that is also fun to play around on as they are surprisingly light for there 120 under foot and 196 length.
while I was there Keith and kevin Focused a lot on cleanliness in the pressing process to ensure a superior strength in the ski. Any little bit of oil or dirt can lead to a "weak" spot in the ski.
There park ski game on the other hand could use a couple more dampening layer on the edges to help with delam, but according to keith, the park ski game is really because to make a handmade ski literally costs the company 300 dollars, so there is no profit margin to be made in park skis for the company

id just like to put it out there that 128mm underfoot for a first pow ski is a little extreme. why not get something like a JJ or jeffery 114, destroys the pow and ripps all mountain too. not a day of the year i wouldn't use my jjs. if you have a quiver, like one for park, one for all mountain(110mm), one for pow go for it, but those are very wide and really wouldn't be much fun in anything but over a foot of untouched.
the Kapow is more understandable if you are not getting 189s
but why not get something like a ON3P jeffery 114 or Armada JJ or line opus. they will slay just as hare but with more versatility all mountain and more all around fun
