I was reading up on some bindings, I think they were either STH2 or FKS or Attack, that can turn into touring bindings.
Am I crazy or do these exist? If so which bindings do this?
Thanks all

natethegreattThank you. So there isnt "one binding" that I can use as normal, for park and all mountain, and then do something to it without remounting to turn it into a touring binding?
nutz.MFD alltime plates?

ErrlWhat do you guys know/think about Plum bindings? I'm looking to a get touring a setup and found a decent deal on a pair.

.nylesThey're good for a light touring setup but I don't think they quite qualify for what this thread was asking about. I wouldn't trust them for hard charging big mtn skiing, that's just me though
CamembertGet them, as long as they have the black arms, I trust them.
I charge the shit out of them without locking the toes. Hardpack, heavy tracked and offcourse powder, never had problems or pre-releases. Bombproof bindings.
OP, get BCA trekkers!
natethegreattSo, just to clarify, BCA trekkers can do both downhill and touring? Are they heavier than normal bindings? For example, heavier than STH2 13s or FKS 140s?
-SnowSnoli-How much touring and how much park etc are you planning on doing?
I have a friend who has a one ski quiver with Dukes on and he shreds the park with them and has done for 2 years with no problems.
But he only spends probably 20% of the time in the park.
If you are planning only a couple sure get trekkers. I did when i first started out. But after 2 times I realised they just lack edge grip due to movement, and just no where near as good as a real touring binding.
Another option.
Get some touring bindings like duke/guardian/aaadrenaline put them on intended ski. Then pick up a pair of couple of season old park skis for cheap. Then you are sorted.
natethegreattWouldnt I take the trekkers off for the descent? Do you mean edge grip while ascending?
-SnowSnoli-ascending.. when cutting across steeper pitches. short hikes its ok.. but if you plan longer it sucks.
