Hucking a new trick

When you guys try a new trick, will you do anything else on that lap, ie will you do some rails or jumps before the attempt, and if you land it will you finish your lines?

I find that this happens, but almost too much cause I get overhyped and could go kill myself on the next feature.

Depends if I'm shredding with friends and filming or skiing by myself. If i'm with friends i'll stop after the feature and high five my friends and lift the stoke level. If i'm by myself i'm pretty much like...

For bigger tricks on bigger jumps I like to air it out once then run back up and give it a huck. It's mostly mental but also helps to keep air awareness fresh without having to take the lift back up. Sometimes I psyche myself out on the lift whereas If I hike up I have less time to think.

ALWAYS finish the line. always.

Last year after I landed my first 2 pretz 2, I continued the line and ended up landing 2 more new tricks in the same run. I was so stoked that I just kinda stood at the bottom of the run trying to figure out what just happened. When you're confidence is as high as it is after stomping a new trick, I don't know why you wouldn't keep going.

When you do a new trick, don't "huck" it. Hucking generally turns into slinging which develops bad habits. Be as smooth as possible with the set.

I always like to do some mellow style tricks on the way in to kinda get my focus going if I land its all on how stoked I'm feelin after landing.

I remember I went into a comp, training run is going good, try a new trick on the second jump (about 55 feet) almost case it, but I dont, dont have enough speed for the 3rd jump so I sit down, hit third jump, catch edge on jump send it to flat land on my head, and thats how I ended up in ICU for 2 days and a shitty fucking concussion

No doubt, that feeling alone is what keeps me coming back. Whenever I land a new trick I almost feel high from it the rest of the day.

On rails, sure. On jumps, it's been a little dangerous in my experience to finish the line. First time I landed a 9, I was so stoked and the adrenaline was pumping so hard that I straightlined into the next jump, popped as hard as I could, sent a sw 5 deep into the gucci plateau and absolutely exploded. Goggles off, skis, poles gone, wind knocked out, generally wrecked. So I skip or straight air the next jump now.
