Any experiences with "We buy clips"

So this company that buys HD clips started liking my videos on Vimeo and they say they might be interested in buying some of my clips.

I'm not quite sure what to do yet, they actually pay a pretty good price for HD sports clips and you can still use your shots after. I was wondering has anybody here already sell clips to them? Any experiences to share that could hekp me make a decision?

not necessarily a bad thing, but you really, really should be careful. if it's just "send us a clip and we'll paypal you a hundred bucks" you're probably all good, but if you're signing off on anything, alarm bells should be ringing.

Their logo looks to cheap to be legit.



Also:

What are you going to use the clips for?
We don't have any specific use planned for the video clips we buy. We are a kind of wholeseller of video clips. Therefore, our efforts are focused on buying large quantities of video clips and then we attempt to resell them.

Sounds like a solid business-plan.

not necessarily a bad thing, but you really, really should be careful. if it's just "send us a clip and we'll paypal you a hundred bucks" you're probably all good, but if you're signing off on anything, alarm bells should be ringing.

Yeah basically you send them clips and they paypal you the money, but it's just so sketch because I wasn't able to find any clear reviews or anything or google.

I'm clearly not sending any clips if I can't find at least a few reviews on forums that confirm that WeBuyClips isn't just gonne take my clips and fly to mexico with it.

what do you mean by the clips? Do you dropbox them, or do you send a hardcopy or is it just the rights to using it or what? What will you lose if you send them clips and they don't pay?

If you can figure out what the loss will be, it seems like it could be worth trying even if you get ripped off.

I'm not quite sure but I think you upload the clips trough their website or yeah maybe via dropbox. You don't loose much except that they have your raw clips and will try to sell them, wich means that some random dude might buy the clips and make an edit/promo/add/whatever with it.

I'm not quite sure yet but I guess I'll just try it but not with my sickest clips and let you guys know if it's legit or not.

I'd say try selling em some clips that you don't care so much about to start off with. Worst comes to worst they end up being a scam and don't pay you for a few clips you don't really care about. In the end they could just download your videos from the internet anyways so you might as well see if they will actually pay you for them!

Lol they were interested until I told them it was almost all in 720 p 60 fps, apparently 720p is bad. Unfortunately for them I only have a t3i and I'm not planning on filming 30 fps just to get full HD, I'll hit em up when I'll upgrade my camera haha.
