In our ever-expanding efforts to give back to and support our loyal fans we are looking for devoted Saga Outerwear fans that will help us spread the Saga movement within their community.

We are looking for high school aged boys and girls willing to help us distribute and post Saga Scavenger hunt prizes as well as promote our grassroots marketing efforts. This program is not based on skiing or snowboarding skill. We want active motivated youths with a positive attitude.

In return for your services you will be compensated with Saga Outerwear products and discounts on purchases not available to the general public.

We will still be doing our own personal scavenger hunts but this is a new program we're starting to give back to and include our fans in. If you want to learn more and submit an application follow the steps in the OP.

Highschool aged means highschool aged. aka anywhere from 15-20

What do you get from this? You look cool, get some free gear, and a generous opportunity from Saga to purchase gear from them at a discounted rate.

Saga wins out big on this. They make money on your friends and you buying the discounted gear they let you in on. It seems like maybe Saga should be paying you to help promote the brand. But why would they? After all, if you don't do it for free, there are hundreds of kids who gladly will.

This is a brilliant marketing scheme by Saga. I'm not saying this is bad, just consider both sides of it.

We'll since you have no idea what this program fully involves you probably shouldn't speculate. We haven't talked about what the people get because we don't want the program to e fully ice rice based. We want to find people who want to be a part of something with us. Not someone looking to just get something for themselves.

What I posted had little to no speculation. I never said what you guys are doing is wrong, or that I am opposed to it. I agree that kids shouldn't be doing this just to get something for themselves; this is a good opportunity to be a part of Saga and the community that comes with that.

What forum would you have it in? None of the others seemed anymore fitting but if the mods think it should be moved we have no problem with that.

You initial post seemed to have a negative connotation. If this was misinterpreted I apologize. We're simply trying to get more involved with the community that has helped us get to where we are. We're not trying to hoodwink anyone.

I would have posted it in Now Hiring or maybe Gear Talk.

My initial post did have a negative connotation in the sense I think people should be wary of when a company uses marketing techniques like this and to fully understand why they chose to do so.

I know that Saga isn't trying to take advantage of anyone.

It doesn't have to be your personal instagram, twitter or facebook account. If you want to have a personal one private thats fine but for the purpose of this program you will need public social media profiles that are active.

On mine, you can see my pics, friends, basic info and likes. i feel like that's already a lot except you won't be able to see my timeline. So how public does it need to be?

The purpose of needing public social media accounts is because the individuals we select will be responsible for carrying out Saga scavenger hunts in which they will need to post status' and photos on certain networks using specific saga hashtags. If you're accounts are private it defeats the purpose of connecting with as many people as possible. We are mostly concerned with Instagram and Twitter. Facebook is only so we can get to know a little about you during our selection process.

If you don't want your personal account public, make a separate one.

So, this is similar to street teams like what Karmaloop did back in the day? Help Saga spread the word and get stuff for spreading their message? Nothing shady about this at all. I am sure lots of people will be into this.

But it does seem fairly odd for Saga to do this to me. Maybe I am just getting older but the entire company just feels like some Nickelodeon program these days. But that seems like who they are catering to so it's not a bad thing at all.

No need to respond to this Saga. Sometimes I feel like you guys are a little too overeager with your bantering on NS. I'm just stating an opinion. I'm sure most of the young kids will be into this so I'm likely a minority here as an old-head.
