So yesterday was sort of an LCQ for the smaller names? Then they compete again with the regulars like Nyjah, Ortiz, TPud, etc? Don't follow at anymore, but I was wondering what happened to everyone who used to be big time

Not so much a last chance qualifier as much as a first chance qualifier. Maybe both I guess. They came up with the name of 20 pros (some of which are months old pros, or people teeter tottering on the am/pro line) that weren't current SLS competitors and invited them to compete for ultimately 3 spots on the contest crcuit/tour. Yesterday, they were whittled down to the top 8, who were invited to skate today alongside the pre-qualified existing tour lineup in the semis. The top 3 finishers of the remaining 8 rookies (regardless of how they finished compared to the rest of the field) are automatically invited to the remaining comps in Chicago, LA, and NJ.

Pretty fucking crazy... the dude with the least prior coverage/buzz out of the bunch is actually on top for finals!! He bumped fucking Nyjah.....unreal.

The final 8 for finals, about to start in five minutes is some order of Matt Berger, Nyjah, Ishod, Cole, Luan Oliveira, T Pud, P-Rod and Shane.

Don't know why Dylan Rieder and Austyn Gillette didn't skate. Hopefully they're still onboard.

So, Matt Berger, Trevor Colden (fuck yeah!!) and Davis Torgerson are all new SLS pros, though only Berger is in the finals today. Colden was sitting on the bubble and was bumped by Luan last try. Not gonna lie, I wish either P-Rod or T-Pud wouda missed the cut in favor of Colden.

Yeah, didn't see that coming. He looked so damn consistent yesterday and earlier today....hell even in practice right before finals, he was killing.

I wonder if the reality of the size of the stage and the people he was competing with didn't hit him all at once. He was interviewed just prior and straight up said he was "nervous as hell".

Regardless, he's stoked, on the tour looking to make bread hand over fist real quick.
