I've been trying to find a good extendable pole that doesn't cost me $50. Thought about making my own but wasn't sure what pole to start with or how I would get a mount on the end for a GoPro.
Originally I was going to use a monopod but then I realized that the handle would be on the wrong side so that idea is out.
I really don't want something that extends beyond 4 ft, 3 ft is probably perfect. Still unsure on that though, does anyone have any idea what a good fully extended distance is? I want to avoid the camera shaking at a long distance but still be able to have some decent length.
I have a friend who said they used a hiking pole they got for $15 and hammered it flat then put a 1/4 inch screw through it for the tripod mount.
What have you guys made or what did you buy for this?
