Ramp design and material suggestions for foam pit in run

So i got lucky as fuck and found some guy one CL giving away a ton of foam cubes from a foam pit, I'm picking them up thursday. i have everything else i need to build it, a pit, net , drainage and covering system for water it being outside. instead of doing the normal tramp beside it i am going to put a ramp kinda like snowgression but not useing m snow because it scares the shit out of me, snow flex would be dope but I'm not sure where to get it, and I'm not sure about indoor out door carpet. suggestions on what to use and the shape of the pit would be sweet remember none of this is built yet so anything goes, i think I'm getting enough foam for a 10x25x5 WLD pit but just a guess

use astroturf for the ramp, and make sure the pit is big that you don't die

Use Msnow or you will have to come up with or purchase roller skis if possible, like the ones they now use at Woodward. Snowflex sucks but the only way it is somewhat OK is when you wet it down. This is why they got rid of the snow flex at Woodward at Copper. If the surface is wet, your skis will be wet when you go into the foam pit. Wet foam = death. At Woodward they sprayed on a mixture of water and silicone by hand. They had to be careful not to put too much on. Snowflex with silicone spray on it is funky. Think a run in made out of a really long butter box. It felt like you had little to no edge control.

Msnow, can be run dry and is still pretty fast. It is the only solution other than somehow acquiring roller skis or just using rollerblades. If you doubt what I am saying, go search the hundreds of threads in BAJ 101 regarding speed. The only way you can make most artificial surfaces fast is to use tons of water and usually soap. If your foam gets wet, you are hosed.

landscaping fabric is fast as fuck, but make sure your going straight because there will be no turning. Its much faster than indoor outdoor carpet and turf.

you're going to want it wider than 10 feet. that's not much room to spare if you land sideways unless you want a concussion.

I'm with Mr. Huck on this one. mSnow is your best option for multiple reasons.

I've been using mSnow in my backyard for 2 summers now. I don't understand why you're scared of it, do you think you'll fall on the inrun?...

I would go with msnow, but since that doesn't seem like an option for you I would go with powderpak. Snowflex is the best but it is so expensive

Snowflex is not even close to being the best. There is a new product out called Pro Slope which blows snowflex away. The CEO of Snowflex skied on Pro Slope and he was visibly alarmed. You can actually carve on it, versus brushing your skis out to a weak edge set. Anyway, as I mentioned before, product like snowflex and powderpak have to be irrigated to achieve somewhat realistic speed. Without water you will be walking downhill on it. Water + Foam Pit = Broken Neck. Msnow is the only surface right now that is pretty fast even when dry.

not to worried about water getting in the pit from the skis transferring water but ill prob go with plastic lattice and turf mix to get the speed, m snow is the same as any other plastic

Its pretty thin, you might have to do more than one layer, but it is really cheap. I think you can get it in different thicknesses as well.

mSnow is most definitely not the same as any other plastic lattice

the feeling i get from msnow is no edge control what so ever its the same as the plastic lattice i use for my summer set up except the is no risk of ripping your face off when you fall on that shit. also theres not going to be 100 campers jumping in and out of this thing all day maybe 20 hits a day over a period of 6 hours the few drops of water off the skis each time will not make a huge deference. yes ill give feed back on my own thread its called a conversation doesn't mean I'm disregarding it, now i know if it does get solid as a rock ill know well i guess that kid on NS was right. i would like snow flex and the other similar thing i forget the name but that shit is pricey, remember I'm getting the mostly everything to make this thing for free so there is pretty much no money set aside for it. also I'm going to get the foam today, stoked as fuck ill let you know how much it actually is!

rough guess of 5000 blocks, guy said it cam from a foam pit 30x20x3-4

8 inch blocks. could barely fit half of them in my dump truck. going back next week to get the rest.. I'm so stoked

This is what I use. It rips pretty easy but its cheap and fast so its good

whoa i just had an idea.. roller skis kinda like they use one nitro circus or woodward. any idea of how to go about making a pair ?? it would solve a huge problem of mine
