salomon 3-d buckle question

So I got the 04 1080 boots, they're super comfortable and i'm looking forward to the soft flex in the park. But i'm conserned they'll be too soft else where. I'm looking for ways to stiff them up when i'm not in the park. So does moving the 3-D buckle change the flex in any way? Any other ideas would be helpfull too

i bought em and the guy at the store said he thought they were too stiff for me, so i dont think you need to worry about it

If they are a good fit, you shouldn't have a problem. The flex is similar to that of the xwave 8 which is a freeride boot. I am 205 lbs. and they are a little on the soft side but I still feel comfortable riding them in all but the worst chop.

Thanks guys, i'm thinking about a fatter powerstrap. I asked about the buckle because i noticed that the forefoot of the boot flexes outward when i flex forward. So i was wonder if moving the buckle could create more resistance of that latteral flexion.

lateral flexion? sounds like a muscle or something. the tighter you make your buckles, the stiffer the boot generally. if it has a flex adjuster, crank it up if you want it to be stiffer. my technicas have little inserts in the inside that slide in and out, and change the flex. i wouldnt expect that from salomon, but they might be there

moving the 3d buckle won't do shit to the flex. It might hold your heel in the pocket a little more, and it could eliminate a pressure point, or create a different one. It's not hard to move at all, so give it a try and see how you like it.
Make sure you do your boots up properly. That means not sloppily, but tight. Not too tight, just right. You'll know when you get it. It's the most important thing you can do after having a good shell fit.
Bahahaha... or, you could call it the 'elitist snob' cult. Anyways, my family already owns a country club, so no thanks.

I think it's because of the spacefarm construction, the forefoot spreads out as you lean forward, anyways they're super comfy
