Ok so I need some new skis for next year, my last pair of skis were the 2012 domains and I absolutely loved them. I'm looking for a buttery, soft ski. I ski 85% rails and 15% jumps so I'm not too worried about stability. I'm always in the park. My question is which ski should I go with, anyone have any reviews on the domains? Are they similar to the 2012 models? Are the TC's too soft? Also I'm 6'0 185lbs and an advanced/expert level
If you are looking for buttery soft skis no question the TCs will be a good choice, but if you charge real fast & hard they might be a little noodley for you and no one wants flimsy ass skis. Might want to go domains but i dont know much about them
At your size op the TC will be far too soft. yhey just don't hold an edge and I know you said you don't do many jumps big you will be washing out landings of rails ect as they are so soft. Not as much pop as you would hope for either.
The domains are better but have you demoed them? Are you sure they are the sort of ski your after. I would think a thall or punx may be a better choice for you.
JahLiammy last pair of skis were the 2012 domains and I absolutely loved them.
The Domains haven't changed at all since they came out. The current TC feels softer than the Domain, especially much torsionally softer. Next years claims to be even softer than this years so I can't imagine them not being too soft.
Domain. They have more than enough flex, if the TC's have more flex than the Domains that might be too much flex for alot of people.. I don't see why anyone would need that much butter
I can stand behind K2s, which you have experience with, but I would not recommend the TCs. One of my friends skied his for less than half a season, and huge amounts of edge cracks caused a full edge pullout. They were very buttery for hi though, even as a light-ish guy, but their durability was terrible.
Thanks for the advice everyone! I think I'll go with the domains because I can a) get them at a preseason ski sale for cheaper and b) I simply like them to much to switch over to line
