Help me find a computer part

Hey computer keen people of NS I need your help. My screen connection cable is messed up where the hinge is. Ive tried googling every combination of words i can think of with my computer model, but have found no success. Also i dont want to pay a computer shop the estimated 200$ to replace a cable. Does anyone know where I can find specific parts such as a screen connection cable for a sony Vaio VPC-CW290x?

Screen connection to a TV via hdmi? Or to a monitor? Should be pretty standard

The computer he posted is a laptop. Probably not hdmi or dvi, he broke the internal cable that connects screen to everything else.

Oh probably should a looked it up... If its a laptop I'd just take it to a shop cause they're really hard to work with

Screen connection to what? From your broad description I'd guess either a VGA, DVI, or HDMI cable. Need more detail.

The cable that carries the video signal through the hinge to the LCD panel is called an LVDS cable.

If you look on eBay for "VPCCW LVDS" you'll see a few listed there for like $30.

Make sure you find the one that looks exactly like your original part... there are a lot of similar looking connectors for these types of cables and you don't want to end up with the wrong one.

Sweet, thanks for the responses. this helps me out quite a bit. Im gonna take my screen apart and see if i cant find out the specific model without disassembling my whole laptop
