Huck_E_CheeseHere's my less-than professional take on the entire contest.

Level 1's been holding this contest for 11 years now. How many of the winners have come back to produce memorable, long-lasting segments? 4? 5? Many of the winners have moved on to do their own thing in the industry. I think that Level 1 is looking for someone who is going to stay around and produce several MEMORABLE segments in the up-coming future. Someone who is talented in multiple areas and fits the crew well. That being said the recently just lost Logan Imlach, someone who fit their profile perfectly. So they will probably looking for someone who has a more creative look on skiing and can ski well outside of the park too which is probably why the finals aren't just a park-shoot this year, but also skiing around the mountain. A lot of European park skiers have been picked recently, and they haven't been producing huge parks for the films (excluding Eriksson.) That being said, they probably want a skier who will go on more trips and stack more creative footage.

Well what does this mean for this Year's entries? It means that really they're looking for the next skier kids will rally around and support. One who they want their picture taken with, who will have a strong influence in the community and produce sick segments.

Now taking that into consideration, look at this year's finalists.

Top Choices:
Mitchel Brower. Dude fits the part perfectly. SUPER creative outlook on urban and rips the BC. I recently saw a video of him actually shredding lines which was sick. For once, a finalist that can actually ski and doesn't just appear in 5 second clips of him spinning or grinding. Fits the missing Imlach style and persona. Probably your winner (and should be.)

Robin Romera: Has a super sick outlook on urban. His edit was smooth and was one of the only two to have some BC. Those two lines showed that he can really ski also. Plus he sends it. He very well could produce some sick parts

Wild Cards:
Vincent Prevost: His edit was absolutely filthy. Hard charging style, shreds urban and isn't afraid to try new things. However he didn't have any BC footage(east coast is a bitch) which could be a turn off. Couldn't really complain about him. Plus he's apparently a super chill dude.

Lars Tynes: Wow. The dude has some serious talent. Smooth style and great trick selection. HOWEVER, his edit was entirely park. Based on the little I know about him, this would be a problem with Level 1 because he would only be in the park segments (keep in mid this is how Delorme started.) He also only spins left. But damn, those left spins are delicious.

Overall this is just my opinion. Correct me on anything but that's how I feel about this contest. Brower should win though. Level 1 could use a guy like him.
