Mountain with best park crew?

I was just watching a killington edit and I remembered when I went there last season and even though the park was closing very soon, they were still maintaining their park and moving features around and such. I have not had my local mountains' park crew be this awesome. I have heard that Park City park crew is not good either. so what have you guys found?

Timberline!!! Super awesome people, really chill, always willing to help out and they aren't lazy. You'll see them groom and rake rails/jumps a few times a day.

Anybody that knows what the hell they're doing and isn't lazy. Extra points if they aren't assholes but not necessary.

People not knowing what the fuck they're doing, and people being lazy as fuck are the biggest problems in parks today.

If you think your park sucks and or your park crew sucks. Get on the crew and do something about it. If they give you a chance, take advantage of it and don't be a lazy goober.

If you think your park is sick and your park crew kicks ass. Tell them that you're digging the park and they're hard work.

Def a solid trend in park building right now though. More people know what the hell is going on, and management seems to care more about the parks, parks are given more resources.

idk if they would compare to the large resorts our west or even east but chestnut mountain in illinois does a great job. Best park in midwest last year. This year they made a totally new set up for the last weekend and have just a great all around park.

rabbit hill is just outside of edmonton and i think they do a pretty good job considering the space that they have to work with.

Yeah right! Killington is really such a great mountain with great service maintenance. I heard that Seven Springs Resort were also doing the same way.

In Les Deux Alpes Parks, the crew are super sick! Not onyl do they put out really creative features (like pyramids, 10m street rail to wall ride down to wall ride to flat box to zig zag rail etc.) They ride through all the time, checking it and hitting the shit out of it! Looking super steezy in the process..

Perishers park crew kills it. Last season they had a shit season and yet still managed to put up two sick parks. They also kept changing features which was sick.

Meet people at the mountain, especially the park crew. If you know some of the park crew guys well that can help a lot. Unfortunately there isn't a guarantee of there being a job the season you want to start working there.

If you've got a couple mountains close by that will help as you have a better chance the more mountains that are there.

You need to be 18 to work at a good chunk of mountains. Just something to keep in mind. If you get an opportunity make the most of it and work your ass off. If you blow it might be pretty tough to get another one.

If there's no way you can get on the crew anywhere see if you can volunteer a bit in the park for a pass. Get an idea for the job, build some shit, ski for free. Any experience you have especially with good references will go a long way in getting jobs in the future. Also if you ever hit a point where you're down to move pretty much anywhere that always helps. If you have some experience and good references there are always some mountains hiring. Maybe not the dream mountain you want to work at the season you want to go there, but most places will be hiring at some point.

Some places will only hire people that they know. That can be shitty but it's understandable. A ton of people think that park crew is the easiest job on the mountain, get hired, and then are lazy as fuck / get the boot. Many times mountains are more comfortable hiring from withing especially with people that have little to no experience. That's why it's a good idea to meet your park crew and get in tight. That said if you're willing to move you can always apply to a bunch of mountains and hope you can get a job.

If you can't get a job anywhere at first and end up working at a mountain in a non related job, make sure to mention that you'd like to work in the park if there's ever an opportunity. Hang out in the park a bit meet the people, meet the park crew. If they're short handed for a day sometimes the park crew will enlist the help of some other people for a day. Also if somebody get's broken or fired there might be a spot opening up mid season.


It's a lot of hard work sometimes but if it's something you enjoy it's the best job ever. Unless you dig up a stash of diamonds whiles setting a rail, you'll probably never get rich doing it but it doesn't matter.


Lastly, DONT BREAK THE FUCKING RAKES!

Damn i dont know what TLIne you have been riding but i rode it everyday in the winter and jumps were extremly inconsistent and landings were always flat as hell, got better towards the end but not the sickest park crew out. Not trying to bash them i love Tline

Yeah the jumps were a bit iffy this season but part of that was probably the bad snow conditions we had at the beginning of the season. The rails were definitely on point though, park crew got really creative with some of the setups they had.

Yeah that's what I have heard about the jumps. I didn't get to ski much at all during the early/winter season so I can't say much about them than, but they seemed fine now.

Great thing is is that they got really creative and have stepped up a lot in the past few years!

Thredbo's park crew are a little lazy but they haven't got much to work with! heard it was a lot better before Russ switched to Perisher!

Never really a good excuse imo. Most places could use more snowmaking more staff, more cat time, more features. That said you can do a lot with a little.

Any place that has enough decent features for the size of the hill can be good if it's done right.

Some mountains suck and won't really let people do their job but with a little grind down of the features, some fresh paint, and setting things up proper most meh parks could be solid.

Not really saying that it's not easier with better features, more features, more reasonable management, better snowmaking, dedicated park cats, etc. Just that people seem to hang on those excuses like a crutch and never make it happen.

Also never ridden perisher but from the pictures they seem to have some pretty good shit going on there. Maybe that was the old crew?

Naa man, I spent this season there and its a fun park but park crew are pretty lazy and the lips are often pretty fucked. The don't rake the kickers, but instead pretty much rebuild them once a week which takes all day to do all of them so, no one can ride them for a day.
Also it s a burton park do its super snowboard orientated and there is ski school after ski school smashing lips up.

I might get hate but I feel like "snowboard oriented" parks are in peoples minds a lot of the time. I remember when people bitched about urban takeoffs and called them "snowboard style".

Idk the situation, maybe you park has ollie on features, and the urban down rails are 3 feet above the takeoff. Just saying that most parks have something to offer both skiers and boarders.

Best park crew in Qc: Le Relais, they changed the setup 3 times this year I think, they always have a setup opening weekend and they try to have a top to bottom park as soon as possible, which early-mid december I think this year.

Now the worst park crew in Qc is Mont Avila, I just can't figure out what goes through their mind...

Talk to park crew, but dont be annoying. Become known to them so they know your name when you go for an interview.

Certainly not my home mountain, the park was decent but the crew was kind of a mess this year. A couple people quit and a lot of people ended up hating the manager by the time the season ended.

Wait, 3 times is a lot? Guess we are on fire then, we usually change it every 2 weeks. I guess if you have a big park it will take more time to change and ours is small so we can swap stuff regularly.
