mhskier13Dont mean to jack the thread, but im building a summer setup and I was wondering what is best, a ladder-style drop-in or a regular full drop-in?
mhskier13is it possible to do the ladder thing but stretch the carpet over the full thing?
mhskier13Thanks, turns out i wont be doing the ladder style. Seems abit sketchy as you said. Another question, my startoff is 6ft high is that a good height? Also I was wondering if I have to put plywood on my down part, is it possible to do the ladder thing but stretch the carpet over the full thing?
dangler24706 ft is a solid height, but it all depends on how long of a rail your trying to hit. Obviously a 10ft rail will take much less speed than a 20ft.
The whole point of the ladder style drop in is to minimize friction by having less surface area. The whole point of the ladder style is to minimize contact with the slope so stretching turf over the rollers would be counterproductive. It would be similar to laying down turf over plywood, except you took the time to build rollers that don't do shit.
IMO a ladder style drop in is a last resort if your regular plywood/turf drop doesn't have enough speed. A normal drop in with plywood and turf is the way to go
Portskiermake sure the grain of your turf is going the same way, i accidently pu mine on in opposite ways so now each rung is a different speed. (i did a ladder drop in)
