Anyone else pissed off about the latest Jeremy Clarkson 'scandal'?

Spark notes version: The mirror found an unreleased shot from a top gear review where Jeremy was saying how to choose between the brz and gt86 is simple and then does the ennie minnie moe rhyme, but in that shot he allegedly mumbled the n word (the original version of the rhyme) and using paid audio forensic people the mirror determined it was 75% possible the word he mumbled was in fact the n word . Now everyone is up in arms saying he should be fired and all that despite them redoing that shot and replacing n word with teacher and airing that version.



I am the only one that thinks this absolutely ridiculous, first off the alleged version did not even air and secondly it took a team of forensic audio engineers to determine that it was possible that he even said it. Doesnt that seem like a little bit of overkill?

Even if he did say it does it really matter, it was off air and highly unlikely anyone on set was that offended seeing as the clip several years old now and to top it all off it wasnt even said in offensive manner it was mumbled while reciting the childhood rhyme in the way most people know it was originally made and immediately recited the more politically correct way in the subsequent shot

I cant believe Clarkson even felt it necessary to make a response to this. And even a serious one at that. He's had his problems with race issues in the past but who actually believes that he could be that blatantly racist. Possibly Peirs Morgan and his cronies?

p.hawkstake him off the air for the shit with tesla, not for this. In all seriousness though, I think it's alright, he corrected it and it reflects and older generation. My grandparents and their friends are relatively young, very proper/well mannered, but lets just say that some of the stuff they say doesn't reflect that. Ultimately, old habits die hard, and while it may not be right, it was socially acceptable at the time the rhyme was ingrained in his brain. He fixed his mistake, but people love a "scandal"

Its pretty pathetic how weak minded some people are that they need to seek out things like this to get offended by. I feel like its the kind of people who have shitty insignificant lives and need to feel like they're doing something, and be seen and be heard by crying about shit that a normal individual wouldnt even acknowledge as being out of the ordinary.

what he doesnt explain is the gas engine in it is mostly used to recharge the faster and more powerful electric engine. It still does send power to the wheels, but this is a lot closer to the realistic, faster future of electric.

_DUSTY_Jeremy Clarkson reviewed the Tesla roadster in his typical mocking way and Tesla tried to sue him for damaging their reputation.


And the case was dismissed because Tesla was being a dickhole.
Tesla claimed it was a 'sports car' hell, it was even build on the chassis of one of the best handling cars ever made so Top Gear tested it like any other 'sports car' and yes if they battery would run flat on a track day you would be in for a long wait and possibly a tow to the nearest recharge point.

Also the batteries made the car pigfat and handle like a turd.

And I'm not some old world petrol powe person, I drive an electric car ,yself because I care for this earth (not really of course, there are just some tremendous fiscal benefits for pretending to care) but as an electric sportscar the Tesla Roadster is a very flawed product.


Also Top Gear has slammed dozens of cars and often far worse but other car companies haven't begun a case against them. It makes Tesla seem unsymphathetic.

Obama is being asked to ban Top Gear along with 200+ countries. This situation is getting out of fucking hand. If this firm of lawyers get what they want they will be harassed and get the shit kicked out of them. Also BBC will only make money from their other shows that arent as highly ranked as Top Gear which from what I know is an incredibly recognized show for being factual.

Of course these fuckers would take their complaints to one of the most highly powered brown person in the world.

after watching JC's statement I can understand you know what it can happen especially for older people that grew up with the nursery rhyme. I remember it as "tigger" and always will. He stated he made sure he didn't say it and made it very clear it was not to be aired. His point was to mumble. He mumbled two takes and said teacher on the final take. I understand words can hurt some peoples butts but I mean this shouldn't be a big deal because the context in which it's used isn't racist. His statement was that to choose between the two cars is as simple as eenie meenie minny moe. He also states he loathes the words usage.


Just to be clear I'm not saying I condone the use of the word but context means everything when deciding someones racist cause that's a pretty harsh allegation in this day and age.
