I just don't understand how freestyle skiers can hate on good inline skating? I don't skate, but anytime a random inline skating video makes it on NS, I am truly impressed. Why the hate?

Same on here. I feel bad hating on it but otherwise kids I'll get -K and people will send me mean messages calling me names.
I think it's a really fun sport but I can't deal with all the people being mean.

BUT I think that people who hate on any sport be it blading, scootering, skating, snowboarding, whatever, are just looking for affirmation that they are 'cooler' than the people they are hating on . Care less about what other people are doing, and you'll probably find yourself having more fun.

I guess I'm just surprised to see hate for a inline skating from skiers, when quite frankly - skating is just the weird "concrete cousin" of freestyle skiing (imo)!
i got in an argument with a friend saying that skating would be more beneficial to my skiing over blading. I think both would have there pros and cons but blading is the closest closet sport to skiing. i plan on getting some this summer aswell.
The skill level isn't just what it used to be (at least to me).. but the problem for me is the tight jeans, and closeups of dudes bending over and showing skin. Call me old-fashioned.

Yeah I'm seeing too many closeups of bent over dude riding poles with their jocks and midriffs showing when I watch blading vids these days. Each to their own, it's just not my styles and I don't feel like I'm exaggerating or being inflammatory. Also the vibe I'm getting is that people are thinking they're better than they are. Anyway, I blade occasionally, and I think I'll print up a tall-t especially with the logo on it so I can skate with it... thanks for the inspiration.

i just started skating and i have honestly found that if you don't wear those kinds of tight pants and just stay with like a tall tee and maybe just regular pants you can transfer your skiing style and bring it to inline. this way you stay away from the hate or just throw on headphones and tune out the asswholes at the parks

I 100% agree. Personally I used to skate a ton but have been Wanting to start inline during the off season to cope with post season depression. Who cares what you ride? Ass long as your having fun and doing what you love no body should judge you for that
