Rusty edges

So it's been almost a month since I used my skis and the edges are begging to rust up, is it normal or do I have to do something?

Its pretty normal. Just rub it off with some sandpaper.

this or a gummy stone preferably. Not sure if it would be bad for the base but you could get all the rust off the skis and then put a little oil or something on the edges to keep them from rusting, then wipe it off next season

I find it easier to just wax and push some all over the edges. that way your edges wont rust and your bases wont dry out.

Don't put oil on your bases!!! Just put storage wax on the bases and edge and don't scrape.

Use metal cloth or a gummy stone to gently get the rust off. Or just ski and it'll come off within a few meters.

Yeah, it will come off within the first run of the season, so theres really no need to worry about it.

yeah, don't worry about it OP. rust happens and as long as you store them somewhere dry from now on your skis will be fine. it will be gone by the end of your first run back on snow.

Steel wool will take the rust off real fast as long as it's just flash rust and not pitting. This depends on having smooth edges though, as any burrs will hook it instantly.

I presume you're putting them away for the summer now? If so, once you have removed the rust, just put a storage wax on them. Just wax as you normally would, just make sure to wax right over to the edge, and then just don't scrape.
