Weird Weather Patterns

The West has been experiencing strange weather patterns. According to the farmers almanac, the rockies will experience terrential rainfalls, and very warm temperatures for the next few months. Looks like the end of winter is upon us already. Better move down east, and learn to become a park rat while we still have time.

we usually cant keep snow on the ground here in ottawa till past christmas...and we have been getting like an average of 10 cm a night for the past week, its pretty unusual. my front lawn has a two foot base.

Unusually wet as in unusually large amounts of precipitation. That means lots of snow if it's cold out.

The season here in UT has definitely been weird. Tons of snow in Oct, then this monster system a week ago - huge precip totals, but along with strong winds and a warming trend giving us a windpacked upside down snowpack on top of weak layers from the November dry spell. 4 people died this weekend in avalanches because of it. Now we're looking at another warm dry spell. Alta might have gotten 220 some inches already this year, but I might have to bust out the rock climbing stuff again, it feels like sprng.

washington is getting so fucked over by this shit. this time last year there was close to 80 inches at some of the ski areas, and now we are hard pressed to find 20. its horrid. not a bit of hope in sight really. its scary really, depressing too

Yeah, even though it's been weird weather this winter, it's been weird mostly in a good way. We definitely can't complain about the snow - we're way above average. Especially when you look at how the pacific northwest has been doing. Even with all the snow, things feel a little off with the up and down temps and all the splitting storms...

Well here in Québec City we have gotten about 140 cm of snow or over 4 ft so far, Mont-Ste-Anne has 54 trails open and Stoneham is now opened nite and day 7/7, so come on east and ski your brains out !!!

the midwest is gettin hammered. a nice little system came through on saterday, and that resulted in 1 1/2 to 3-feet of snow, and there is another one comming in on sat/sun

here the temperature fluxuates like a fat man on a bungie cord. one day its -30 then by morning its +3, its fucken retarded and were hardly getting any snow and the opening date for the hill is supposed to be dec 18th but thats highly doubtful by the way its going
