How to refresh an Excel table filled with data from a MYSQL Database !

So I want to refresh my Excel table every so often from a MYSQL database that gets new rows every so often.

I have been able to import the Database into my Excel table, but then I cannot figure out a way to update that table with new data added to the MYSQL Database.

- To be able to connect to my MYSQL Database I use the MYSQL software MYSQL for Excel - Version 1.2.1

Any one have an idea how or if it is something that can be done ?

And do what with the Adobe Reader ?
Can't find anything anywhere even thought they say that there is an auto refresh function in version 1.2 !!

Yes it would work, but you would have to manually do everything every time.

I was trying to use MYSQL for Excel to automatically retrieve values, but you can only import the data. You have to use something like ODBC to link to the Database to the table and then you can refresh the data !!!

Yeah, unfortunately Excel doesn't have any live update link to applications outside of itself without 3rd party help or an API.

Whatever your solution, it will always have to be manual.

If you've got any kind of coding knowledge, it would not be hard to write a quick application that queries your database and transposes the data into an excel file.

Maybe, but in Excel with Pivot Tables it's really easy to make charts that you can customize without to much work and it is pretty easy to view the results.

well props for using open source software. but I don't know the answer to your question because I don't use excel for anything. The only time I ever use spreadsheets is when I am collaborating with someone and they insist on using the damn things.
