Has anyone seen this article about Electrics new logo? It's the same logo the KKK and other various hate groups have used over the years. I'd say it's funny but it's actually really bad, can you imagine wearing goggles with essentially a Nazi SS logo? Here's a link to the story:

They'll undoubtedly be forced to change the new logo, you don't want to be on the wrong side of history when it comes to the Nazis and the KKK.

I could be wrong but I'm going to guess that the majority of people who wear goggles do NOT have the knowledge that this new lighting bolt was previously a KKK symbol of some sort. So if Electric also did not have this knowledge, like the general public, and aren't publicly advocating white supremacy than it is purely a mistake. This being said, now that the word is out in the industry, and possibly the general public through media outlets, than it would be a smart decision to attempt to save their reputation by some means.

Overall, I think a common trend in society today is that we love to hate on people/companies for any reason, mistakes included. Anyone in this thread who is saying "yo like guise theiry're (haha) lyke so totes KKK so you shouldn't bi from dem evar agaan #BoicotElectric" needs to take a dildo out of their ass because it was most likely a mistake. If they fix that mistake, than you need to cool your jets and relax cause they're trying.

inb4 internal email at Electric reveals a global plan for white supremacy

TLDR: Electric made a mistake and if they attempt to fix it then everyone needs to calm down.

I do agree that its a pretty generic symbol and it doesn't appear to be that big of a deal. However from a business perspective it would be smart of them to change it back to the original logo or design something similar that doesn't recreate that exact logo. As most people probably won't look at it and think of the KKK, theres probably gonna be that one person that will make a big deal about it. Hopefully Electric recognizes this because its not worth risking a loss of sales over. I personally think the old logo was way better anyways.

Because the KKK affiliated themselves with the Nazi's they are guilty by association. Because they used and continue to use logo's like the Swastika, KKK or a Circle with a lightning bolt its what they are claiming as there own for their movement. Seems like every movement or plight and struggle had a flag of some sort so other's could identify this. So because it was created 80 years ago by a secret society and your dumbass can't find it on the web doesn't mean that it doesn't exist or that the KKK are still not using it. If it can barely be found anywhere on the web, how do you know it was a prominent kkk logo, and not used just for that book? How do you know the kkk even created that logo?

I think its safe to assume that the "slayer" part of your username is for the band, seeing as it has 666 in front of it. Have you ever looked closely at the "S" in slayer? Why do you still chose to support them?

The two S's in kiss's logo looked similar to the "ss" logo but they were still extremely popular and no one spread hate against them for it.

You guys really think this was anything more than a huge oversight on Electric's part? I'd be the first to admit I was wrong if it comes out that they DID know and went ahead with this anyways... but... nobody is that dumb. Come on. Do you really think that? Come on.

It's a flattened, simplified lightning bolt. It's doesn't make it OK that it's almost identical, but I seriously doubt that whoever did this logo did it knowing that it was so similar to the old KKK symbol and did this maliciously. This shouldn't be a scandal... a good laugh at electric maybe, but you are all treating this like electric is actively promoting racism.

People need to stop assuming the worst in people. People are capable of making honest mistakes.

Arnet Sunglasses used this first way of spelling the brand name for 7 or 8 years before they received a Cease and Desist Order from Vuarnet because the spelling and likeness were to close to Vu-(arnet) and had to change their name to Arnette and that was just a spelling issue. There is an actual legit reason with that example, and there was a party that was actually negatively impacted by your arnet example. Also, the fact that it took a year and a half to call out something that is as big as you say it is, shows that noone gives and actual fuck, and some dumbass saw the similarity about it and posted it on his blog.
