Granite_StateAnd I can tell you that every pipe is different and the amount of vert a pipe has is totally dependent on the builder of the pipe/what the owner of the pipe wants (aka some people want competition vert, others want a simple 10 ft. to learn shit on). I've stood atop a dew tour level pipe and a mini pipe in a local skate park and half the pipes in between. Don't try to lecture me on the the dynamics of a half pipe. "1.5-2 feet out" get real. He was a foot out at most. Sure, looking at the video he probably did fall 8-10 feet. He also hit the transition perfectly (trust me I watched the video over and over in anticipation of this response). If you are blind enough to see where he lands AND try to deny it, there really is no hope for humanity. Yeah the dad was an asshole for the way he conducted himself. Is that child abuse? Fuck no. That's all I've been trying to say. Scrutinize every detail of my response, I don't care. I have my views, you have yours. Simple as that.
louie.miragsEither way you put it, his dad should have just shoved him off the coping. He did jack shit to help him. Fuck him and any father who tries to get their kids to do anything they don't want to do. Give up with no hope for humanity or talking about the pussification of America. You sound like an idiot. We are more advanced than any other time in written history. Please don't ever have kids.
Granite_State*shouldn't.
People calling this child abuse, yeah that is the pussification of America. Clearly some people like you are on that side. You think this is even close to the worst America has to offer in relation to parents and their children? The dad was a dick and the kid learned a tough lesson. Grow up and move on. I hope YOU don't have children because they most likely will end up as a weak, finger pointing individual like yourself. What the father did wasn't necessarily right but it certainly wasn't abuse, the main point I've been trying to argue the whole time.
More advanced? What do you mean? Technology wise? Socially wise? You think sheltering kids the way we do nowadays in beneficial? Yikes man. You are part of the problem if that's the case. We are weakening society with all these rules and standards, de-evolutionizing as someone previously said. Don't tell people to not have kids when clearly you'll never be fit to have them...

louie.miragsI didn't mean shouldn't. I meant that he should have just pushed him off; it would have made no difference. Society is not devolving because parents pay more attention to their kids these days. Would you prefer if the majority of fathers were still alcoholics who beat their kids? Yeah, that works, abuse your boys and they'll turn to men!
Granite_StateNo I wouldn't. I would prefer if parents parented. Let there kids learn naturally, just like every other mammal. Don't let them suffer and die but don't spoil and baby them. The world is a shitty place and if you shelter a child you are only setting them up to fail. Can you not agree?

-benedettoDe-evolutionize? The dad basically kicks the board out from under him. There is something wrong with you, man. Unfortunately, I can't put it in to words. However, bullying your child and putting it on Instagram is the de-evolutionization if anything..and what "rules and standards" are you referring too?
louie.miragsFuck him and any father who tries to get their kids to do anything they don't want to do.
snwbrdmilfThe dad did not do this with ill intentions - he was helping his kid get over a fear. He's the parent, he gets to dictate how he wants to approach it. I can certainly see why everyone would think its a "dick move" - but don't be so soft. The kid had his protective gear on and is likely to injure himself now that he can drop into a ramp.
And I love how people were saying, "and the dad just walked away" - he is clearly going to meet him at the bottom and discuss what just happened, as a good parent would. Hard love people. Kids are too soft these days anyway.

Phil-X-What the dad did was stupid; obviously the lil kid was scared to drop in and the dad didnt even give him a chance to keep the board under him.
louie.miragsOnly part of your post that matters.
Phil-X-Fuck you pussy, everything I say matters
