Racers versus freeskiers

Sh4dowSkiing down a gnarly face isn't even a race. I mean feel comfortable on the terrain, make it down smoothly without falling and without taking a long time, just ski it well in general.


In that instance definitely a "freeskier", the amount of time spent on different terrain will allow them to make it down in a timely manner, but for the racer, I don't know if racers ski pow or AT in their off time, so I have no gauge of how well they would do

If its a downhill racer they would charge the shit out of any line. The amount of balls it takes to point it straight the whole course at 80+mph take a huge set. No fucks are given when you ski that fast all the time.

We'll if the freeskier could even get down a DH the time would be so slow. Whereas I woul think a racer coul ride a steep spine close to as well as a big mountain guy. They may not throw tricks but could ride te face. So I would say it would be the racer who wins for sure.

Look at what Daron Rahlves does. That guy used to be the best "racer" on the circuit, now all the guy does is slay gnarly lines.

Field productions and Hoji have answered this question.

In supervention, Hoji and Aksel Lund Svindal (racer) are in the mountains of northern norway, Hoji does a ridiculous line, Aksel does a pretty sick line then Hoji says it's cool that Aksel is so good at big mountain skiing, and he wouldn't be anywhere near as good down a downhill course.
