D-TAYrunsthegameIf you honestly think post-05 hip hop sucks, it is clear that you're just completely oblivious to what post-05 is
Check out the Slime Flu series, Cold Corner 2, V6, AON FNO, Boss of All Bosses Series, Rugby Thompson, Mood Muzik 4, Slaughterhouse and A Loose Quarter. Those are just off the top of my head. Learn something.
sterling_archerits just clear you have a skewed idea of what hip-hop is. i dont know how old you are but if you are still in your teens then chances are you missed the golden age
PuzzledYou sound like a nice guy OP so imma contribute

sterling_archeri forgot to mention i did check out everything you listed and thats how i formulated my opinion. slaughterhouse was decent but thats it really
D-TAYrunsthegameYour view of hip hop cannot be taken seriously if you couldn't enjoy Slime Flus 1, 2, & 3.
Also, listen to anything produced by Araabmuzik and Harry Fraud. If you're gonna tell me they had sounds like that in your so-called "golden age", you're wrong.
I used to be big fan of guys like Redman, Big L, Mason Betha, DMX, Wu-Tang, Geto Boys, Naughty By Nature, Mobb, Premier, Pete Rock, Guru, Nas, Cormega, AZ, Shyne, Big Pun, etc.. I could go on for hours, but nothing matches the talent (in my opinion) of certain MC's from recent years, such as Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, Chris Rivers (Pun's son), Jadakiss, Styles P, Sheek Louch, Papoose, Cam'ron, Vado, Lloyd Banks, Royce, DZA, Ransom, Chinx, Stack Bundles, hell, even guys like Meek Mill, Wale and Ace Hood are pretty dang talented lyrically if you look past their mainstream hits. Point is, and believe me when I say this, I honestly believe the golden age is yet to come.
louie.miragsafter your "top 25 most played" thread I am not sure how creditable you are on the subject
D-TAYrunsthegameWhy? Because Chief Keef? Future? Sure their lyrics are terrible, but I can appreciate their ear for instrumentals. If you're gonna tell me Young Chop or the 808 Mafia aren't great producers, you're high.
I actually you know what? I think the fact that I appreciate hip hop from all eras and sub-genres, that that makes me extremely credible.
louie.miragsI am not a big hip hop fan. I am basing my statement on the response your thread got... rather negative

D-TAYrunsthegameThat's because I don't believe there is anyone on this site who appreciates solid production as much as I do. NSers see names like Chief Keef and Future, then ones they probably don't recognize like Lloyd Banks and Joe Budden, and then they assume that its all bad, because hate spreads faster than love. It's not even like I listen to obscure hip hop. If you haven't heard of names like the one's I posted in my other big paragraph post, it's simply because you're not paying enough attention to the rap industry.
