Rossi fks or marker bindings?

Im 14 years of age, i weigh about 115, i would say im a mid level park skier, i have enough money to buy either pair

bindings are a very subjective and controversial subject, everyone has their preferences and favorites

personally i love the FKS and pivot series too much to even consider other brands most of the time

BUT it's worth noting that it doesnt sound like youre big and gnarly enough to necessitate FKSs.. for whatever that's worth

Ever heard of the term "markering out" it's for real, if you ski hard and don't want your skis to come off stear clear of the markers.

Op there is no way you need a jester or a fks at your size. The griffon could work but I would if I was you buy a attack 13. Very similar to griffons but a lower stack height and lighter with a more durable heel track. Also should be much cheaper. That is what I woul advise you op.

This, anyone who recommends FKS or Jesters to a 14 year old is an idiot, there is no way that he would ever need such a beefy binding.

there is an fks 120 binding(12 is the highest the din goes), and that would work for him. So he can get an fks binding, and for marker jesters or griffons would be way too beefy. So if OP still wants FKS or Markers, then the only ones I would recommend are the FKS 120 or Marker Squires.

I totally agree that he doesn't need markers or fks, and that there are better options. I was just stating that if he still wanted to go with fks or markers then he was limited to those two bindings. If I was him, then I would go with the sth2s

Take a look but squires are really basic. I really would get a pair of attack 13's. Should be about as cheap as the squire but they are much much better.

for your age marker. your way to light to need FKS and they are heavy so that wouldn't be good either. The griffons would be perfect cause there light and durable for your weight.

Marker till death. But if you are going for a marker set up I would go for the squire. It is lighter, smaller, and less expensive and can still be set to a din of 11. I am 19, weigh 180, and I ski them wicked hard and they have never given me any problems.

I'd love to try FKS sometime, but ive had 4 sets of Markers, and i like em a lot. They weight a lot less that the Rossi's, they perform great, turn the din higher than recommended and you will love them

If you only weigh 115 get the griffons. They're beefy enough that they'll be able to hold you in once you get bigger but much cheaper than the jester and FKS. Once you break the plastic on those in 4 years get the FKS

Get some salomon sth2 13s. Good combo of beefiness, performance, and weight. And it's in your size range and super cheap right now. Waaay better than squires.

Griffons honestly would be fine too

I have both FKS and markers on my Alpha 1's and K2's, respectively. For you I would go with the marker for a few reasons.

1) The markers are easier to change size if your foot grows. You're only 14 which means by the time you're 16 you may need a bigger pair of boots. The heel piece on the markers slide a bit forth and back so you can easily switch boots if you need to. That being said once the FKS is drilled thats the only size you can have I believe. (I might be wrong ive never changed my boots in them) Im pretty sure if you want to change the sizing you need to redrill your skis.

2) The FKS are a pain in the ass to repair. Maybe its just my local shop that is incompetent but I have heard that getting parts for the FKS is not as easy as it should be..

3) The markers are much lighter which means you will spin faster with them.

Thats just my opinion

FKS definitely more durable, yet heavier. If you only weigh that much Markers should hold up for ya just fine

Ok cool wow ive learned alot more bout these bindings thanks for all the help! Now, what if i get the fks 140 with the full composite toe piece. Then will the fks bindings be lighter?

I've never ben on marker bindings but one of my friends has a pair and the toe piece are coming off the plate on both of them

(From personal experience) I would definitely go with the rossi's. I don't really like marker bindings but the griffons are actually quite good. Based on durability and pure performance alone go with the rossignols.

Umm you must have the wrong dude, i never said i wanted to sponsored. Unless theres another 413crew or something. I wouldnt say im the best park skier but im alright id say for my age. Im just here for binding advice man. If ur on my thread just to hate gtfo dude

jesus god not Marker. I work in a tune shop in Breckenridge, and I see more broken Marker bindings than anything else, mostly Griffons, Squires, and those old speedpoint Demos. I have Jester Pros on my Salomon Rocker 2s, and I hate them, can't wait to get Guardians. Don't go with a brand just because it's popular among a certain group of skiers, the FKS is an amazing binding but you may not need it yet (or, frankly, at all). Tyrolia makes the Attack 13, which is pretty much a traditional race heel tweaked for all-mountain and park, and Tyrolia's pedigree as a binding designer is pretty hard to argue with. Personally, I love them, they're on my everyday/park skis, and they've gotten about 40 days of hard use this season with no issues. On the other hand, Salomon's STH toepiece is the best available, so the STH12 is worth looking at as well.

TL;DR avoid Marker like the plague, look at Tyrolia and Salomon

From my experience I have had marker griffons since 2010 when they came out and since then my weights gone form around yours to 170, and they aren't even close to breaking. If you want a durable binding, that's the one from what I've experienced. Had em since I was 11, and they've been through a lot.

The weight of the binding doesn't seem to really have too much affect on swing weight and all of that personally. People say that the fks is so much heavier than the jester but its only approximately half a pound heavier than the jester. The difference between each binding is very minimal. For you,like everyone said above, go with the Tyrolia attack 13 bindings. Unlike the griffon specifically, the "wings" on the attack 13 toe piece doesn't wiggle, plus the elasticity is great.
Fks 140: 2.411 lbs
Marker Jester: 2.363 lbs
Marker Griffon: 2.226 lbs

at a competent level of skiing where you are in a situation will you be landing hard on jumps or slamming on to shit, get the fks. that is of course if you have the money to shell out.

Ya im pretty shure that rossingnol owns pivot aswell so there almost 100% the same just a different color.
