FS: GH3, Speedbooster, Metabones Nikon Adapter, Tascam DR40

So I used a friends Blackmagic Pocket yesterday on a shoot and actually really enjoyed shooting with it. Then I imported the footage and was absolutely blown away by it. I can't settle for 8 bit footage after seeing what that camera can do, so I'm selling my GH3 and buying the Pocket.



Panasonic GH3. Condition 9.5/10

$800

Only had this camera for about 6 months. It's mostly been used for short films and music videos. Only took it out skiing twice, so it hasn't really seen any abuse at all. Includes camera body, body cap, 1 Panasonic battery, 2 generic batteries, and a generic charger.





Metabones Nikon G-M43 Speedbooster. 9.5/10 Condition

Glass and barrel are mint. Includes front and back caps and the tools it came with to adjust the backfocus/remove the tripod collar.

Or maybe I'll just engineer a focal reducer with a factor of .2 so I can use medium format glass on a super 16 sensor.

Are you planning on using the BMPCC for jobs? I've considered it but am scared of its quirks being a dealbreaker.

No I'm planning on using it for a film I co-wrote and am DP'ing on starting in June. My friend who's directing it has a GH3 so we have that as a B cam and also for any jobs we get. And if I get solo jobs I can always borrow his camera.

The only quirks I think that would be detrimental on a job are the volume of SD cards and batteries it uses, and the audio issue. That can easily be solved by buying tons of SD cards and batteries, and rigging it up with an external recorder and mic. They also make a little battery grip thing that allows you to power it with two canon batteries.

For shooting something that is in a controlled environment like a narrative production, the image quality is totally worth its quirks. For shooting events or action sports, you'd definitely have to rig it up to work around the quirks. The lack of 60p definitely scares a lot of people away too.

Nice man. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it. Although if Digital Bolex is can achieve turnkey ordering by the time I'm out of school, I'll probably opt for that instead. Mmmm...dat knee...
