Spssi wish they would make a mid engine diesel sports car
SpssPorsche was lightyears ahead of the rest of the world with the 959. The f40 comparatively was an unreliable piece of shit that could rarely do its claimed top speed.
Porsche has had to deal with the user unfriendlyness of having an engine at the back for half a century, and although it has killed hundreds of yuppies, it is now very drivable and predictable at the limit, especially in 4wd models like the turbo.
What most people dont know, is that unlike most performance cars at the same level, porches are unfuckingbelievably reliable. The last for hundreds of k miles, and hold as tight as a drum.
My dad had a 90 targa when i was a kid for 3 years and sold it for 3000 bucks less than he bought it. No problems, ever.
Porsche engineering is redonkulous
Ski_the_east01It was teh GT3 and Porsche is replacing every single engine in every single GT3 for free after they confirmed it was a connecting rod issue
Tesla doesn't know why their cars are catching on fire and hasn't addressed hte issue. Could be the charger, could be motor related..
hey-dude-its-metheyre paying owner 2k a month supposedly
and the much smaller problem of tesla fires was solved like 2 months ago
hey-dude-its-mesolved like 2 months ago

LucasCalling the F40 a piece of shit almost invalidates everything you have to say completely.
Also, the reason you think porsche's are so reliable is because your dad owned a air-cooled model. It hasn't really been the case since they switched to water cooled and I urge you to look at any recent ownership reviews over an extended period of time. Not to mention their recent exploding cars...
cobra_commanderThe fuck why?
I wish someone would make an overcooked grass fed fillet minion.
thedarkwolfHaha. This thread made me remember this old relic. Too bad the boxster sucks.
Kooky_LukeyIf you actually want a Porsche you don't buy a Boxster, I swear the 90's and early 2000's one's have the same rubbermaid interior as a Subaru.
Build quality though, it's a toss up. I worked at a Porsche dealer all through high school and not a lot of stuff broke, but when it did, shit hit the fan. When you actually drove it though, whether it be a 911 turbo, gt3, cayman, etc... Everything was tighter than Taylor Swift's vag.
If I ever make the money to buy one, I will in a heartbeat, but I will still cry when I get the bill for the repair.
speedinI am huge huge Porsche fan. As I have said before on here, the gt3 is the most complete, and well rounded car I have ever driven.
Porsche's are decently reliable, I wouldn't say any more or less then any of the other major super car companies.
My good friends has a 06 gt3. It has 43K miles on it. It is amazing, however he could have probably purchased another gt3 with the amount of money he has spent on parts breaking and maintenance.
A few years ago a coolant hose blew, and the whole motor had to come out to get access to it, that costed a few grand.
2 years ago the diff came apart on a track day. So he got an upgraded diff, and race suspension that came off a wrecked cup car....that cost $14k
3 weeks ago, he had all 4 brakes done, and few other "Minor" things done as well. Yea, that was almost $6k.
Last week I was driving the car, when all of sudden the clutch decided it didn't like to work anymore.
The shop called him and are replacing the clutch, flywheel, and power steering pump...to the tune of $12k.
I have to say that, the the price of Porsche parts are laughable. INSANELY OVER PRICED.
The gt3 is a drivers car for sure, however it will through you sideways in a snap of a finger.
yuckOP you have probably one of the best reputations on this website for anything car related, and since we know you worked with that porsche team and made a thread about it, i am requesting a thorough justification to such an outrageous claim. (IMO saying any one individual company is simply "the best" is outrageous)
