Skiing on tarp

I want to get a summer setup but i am not allowed to got astroturf. I have a bunch of old tarps that i am allowed to use. Would it work to ski on? I have wood for a jump and I already have a rail. i just need something to ski on. Is tarp a considerable option?

maybe if you put something soft but firm underneath it, and lubed the shit out of it with something really slick. but idk i doubt it will work nearly as well as turf

turf is cheap as shit, you could get more than enough for a drop in and landing for less than $50

What if you put a hose at the top of he turf spraying water down it? Would that make it better?

If you don't have any money to spend on turf then I would recommend either stealing construction fencing or buying some. The tarps just aren't worth using, they aren't going to be fast enough or slide well from past experience.
You could lay them on the sides of the rail to land on if you fall off early since that's better than grass/dirt. Or you could lay them on the walk back to the drop in so you don't track any dirt onto the drop (dirt slows you down).
Home depot sells construction fencing that you can use for both the in run and landing. It's only $30 for 400 sq feet. If you don't have $30 to spend then you probably shouldn't be building a drop in.
