Ali_DibdenGet the 176's if you can find them, im 5'9" and ride the 176's are even then they are probably too short. You are never really prepared for white how much rocker those skis have.
BWick04Yeah ill probably have to wait for next years model if i want 176. I was just asking because i can only find a 171 right now and its on sale for a pretty good price, but if thats going to be too short i might as well wait.
BWalmerYeah, you'll want to wait for sure. I'm almost the exact same size and weight as you and the 171 is too small. My first pair of FRs were 171s, they were too short, my second pair was 181s, they were slightly too long, but better, my third pair is 176s and they're absolutely perfect.
BWick04Is 171 going to be too short for me in other rocker/camber/rocker skis made by other companies like the armada halo 2 or line traveling circus? I understand different companies measure differently. I'm just looking for a reasonable price on skis (about 350) with the end of year sales for next season and want a rocker and camber but really don't know what length to buy a rocker and camber ski
BWalmerYeah, the basic rule of thumb is whatever size you'd get in a cambered ski, you'll want one size bigger if it's rockered, especially if it's a soft ski (such as all the skis you've mentioned). I typically use a 171 cambered park ski, so around 176 rockered is where you want to be.
Caveman.ON3P will be having a free public demo during the West Coast Session Public Day on Sunday May 4. You should come try the 171 and 176.
BWick04Is this on mt hood?
