theabortionatorIt matter quite a bit actually. Also, he didn't just turn around right into a punch. You can see him looking at the kid while picking up his bag, saying something to him, and then getting rocked.
There's a huge difference between doing nothing to provoke it and getting smashed and talking a a lot of shit and getting taken out.
