Buying my first ski setup

TC and domain will be softer and wider with early rise/rocker, generally better for rails and small jump.
AR7 thinner with regular camber, best for carving groomers and jumps(still fine on rails).
Decide.
As for bindings:
Sth is good.
Fks/pivot are probably best (full metal).
Markers are pretty cheap(plastic), lost of people complain about breaking. although it's never happened to me I do prefer my salomon sth.
Basically look for more metal if you want them to last.

Would the 171cm traveling circus be the right height for me?

Yes, that would be a good length.

171 would be alright, but a little longer (around 175) would probably be ideal. It partly depends on if you want to focus on stuff like rails and boxes (shorter is better) or big kickers (longer is better).

I don't ski park so I can't comment much on models of skis, but I love the Line Chronics and they seem pretty well liked. Might be worth looking into.

only pivot 18 are full metal, the fks/pivot 14 have plastic toe.

for the OP size I would go sth2 13 much cheaper than pivot 14, and I also couldn't care less for markers! lots of people like them and are happy with it, but you don't see people breaking sth/pivot like you see people breaking markers!

I agree. I have sth2 13 on my pow/all mountain sticks and I can feel a hughe improvement over markers.
Even the "click" is better.

I understand you prefer your STHs , but Tyrolia Attack 13/16 are solid bindings too right? Nothing bad to besaid about them? Found a good deal on them but STH are praised a lot here. Can't afford the Pivots/FKs as they are much more expensive.

never tried tyrolia bindings but they seem decent. Better than a marker.
Yes sth2 are fine for park.

Yeah the attacks are great. I would put them second behind the sth2 in overall best bindings at the moment.

OP ski wise decide what you want. Somthing like the TC will be fun for slower jibs and learning things in the park, but they will suck all mnt. Its a full cap ski so is torsionally very soft. This means its not a ski you can really hook an edge up hard on. Also with it being cap it may not hold up well to lots of rail use so maybe discount those. If your looking line the future spin is a fun little park ski. Light weight with a soft flex but has much more pop then teh rest of lines skis.

The ar7 and thall would be good options. The ar7 is probably a better option as it skis much better round the mountain. Its mid flex too so good for a combo of jumps and rails.

I dont really liker k2 park skis. Too soft and dead feeling for me personally but thats because I prefer a stiffer full camber ski.

Others I would look at are the Atomic Punx and maybe the On3p FR for allmnt/park or prestor if your mainly in the park

if you don't have a discount on those 3 skis i would definitely look elsewhere for better skis.
-Armada Thalls are just softer ar7s and better for rails- a better all around park ski
-Moment vice or pb and j are the tits all around
-Liberty LTE are incredibly light and super fun
-ON3P filthy rich are in my opinion the best park skis on the market rocker and camber and perfect flex make for an incredibly versatile ski not to mention they are bomb proof
-Atomic infamous are super fun, light, and versatile and very inexpensive(probably my highest recommendation out of the 5) the flex is great for every section in and out of the park

-Soloman sth are great
-tyrolia aattack 16 or 13s are great
-marker jesters are great
-rossi/look fks 14 are great

Thank you all so much for the great info and feedback. I demoed a pair of the On3p FT and I absolutely loved them. Definitely going to get a pair for next season. I understand the width is 88 underfoot for the FT and I am going to match them with a pair of Salomons STH2. Would you recommend 90mm or 100mm for the brakes? Also 13 din or 16 din for the bindings. Considering I am 170lb. and just going on my second season of skiing, I would say I am an intermediate rider.

Go for the sth2 13 with a 90 mm brakes. That will be a great setup with the fr. Enjoy.
