Replying to Best credit card

I am looking to get a first credit card and have looked into a few different options. i travel a lot but it seems as a lot of the air miles cards iv found would not be the best option as a first card. i also looked at cards like the citi dividend platinum, bankamericard cash rewards, or the discover it. so newschoolers, what cards do you carry and for what purpose?
