casualMeh, I'm disappointed. Most of the Joe's have 2-3 circus tricks be it obnoxious and haggard double flips, or goofy late pressure flips.
Will Fyock is legit, but then again, he's stretching the Joe definition, but he and Cody are really the only two that have pretty much all the standards on lock. And even then, Cody's pop is gross and some of those tricks were hurt.
It was a really great idea to spice up a contest that has gotten a little bit stale concept wise, but unfortunately, it's really just reaffirming that the people we know to be stupid good, are stupid good.
I was more excited for this than any other year, but I've just been a bit bummed on it. My buddy put it well, the Joe's are like Globetrotters or And1, and though they've got some flash, they're not on the same level as P-Rod, or Mike Mo, etc. Would kind of rather see some battles between flatground legends that go the distance, as opposed to watching another Joe get skunked after losing rock paper scissors.
On an unrelated note....how fucking ILL is Luan de Oliveira? He is fucked up good at skating and skates fast, pops through the roof, and has effortless style.
I definitely agree with what your saying, it sucks when a Joe can do late flips and other insane stuff but doesn't have some of the more basic stuff, but still those are first round battle and they're way better thant the ones from the past years.
And yeah Luan murders, he dropped two parts recently and he's definitely one of my favorite to watch
