Canon 1080p 60fps

Soap Operas always seemed so fucking weird to watch when I was a kid because they weren't in 24p... The lack of cinematic look makes them so bougy...

nutz.If I'm not wrong, it clearly says on the nikon site 60 frames per second, and that means 60p.

here's an explanation I took from the internet to explain it to ya.

1080 60i = 60 1920X540 interlaced fields per second recorded/interlaced onto 30 1920x1080 frames per second. Since two 1920x540 fields taken 1/60th of a second apart are recorded/interlaced onto one 1920x1080 frame, there will only be 30 1920x1080 frames per second.

so therefore, if it says 60 frames per second, we can safely say that it's 60p....

The problem is that this implication is exactly where the treacherous gray area lies. I remember back when HDV came out and they kept advertising "1080 video at 60 frames per second" which was horse shit because it was a tape camera, meaning it had to conform to an interlaced signal in order to be recorded. Because it was interlaced, every frame was only half the resolution (1080i = 540 lines of resolution). I remember people getting really upset at me because I told them their overpriced piece of shit sony didn't shoot true HD.

I saw the d5200 listed as 60p a few places. That's why I got all confused and thought it was the same for the 5300.
