That weird experience.

Today I hit my head pretty hard on the landing of a jump, immediately I experienced the most vivid colors i had ever seen, like all the colors of the rainbow at once. I also had weird buzzing in my head for a couple hours. I slept in the lodge for a couple hours then felt fine. Has this happened to any of you?//

i got a concussion in lacrosse and the next thing i saw was a friend of mine in jail. mind=blown

I've had two concussions now, but this second one today was different. The first one i was knocked out for a couple mins and didn't experience the colors.

Yut, when you get knocked straight out, you generally experience greater memory loss, so you may have experienced the colors, you just dont remember it.

One of the first concussions I ever got I hit my head on someone else's knee in rugby. Everything instantly went bright yellow, and I had wicked deja vu of the whole experience. Had to clue in at that point that it wasn't a coincidence, and that I had probably scrambled some eggs up there. Woops. But anyway, sounds like you had a similar experience.

Also I have a feeling sleeping after a head injury is a bad idea. Not that you can change that now, but maybe Dr. NS could give some insight on that one.

Hit my head, briefly went black, then saw tetris, yes the game tetris in my head, very vividly. Then it was gone and everything was normal again.

Same thing happened to me. Went for the jump, landed hard and hit my head, and the moment I opened the eyes I had deja vu of the crash. Does that mean I had a light concussion ?

I had 4, 2 total balck outs followed by about 6h memmoryloss.
I had the clours as well, I did one and a half rodeo, my helmet snapped in two, I felt like I was on shrooms for like a minute, then I felt weird and had to puke and stuff. Not good. You should follow basic concussion advice. Don't go straight to sleep, and dont watch TV or Computer the next 48 hours, then you should be fine.

Usually after any severe concussion you really don't want to sleep. You can fall into a coma. I've had too many concussions at this point to remember all the minor ones, but the 5 biggest I remember lights getting extremely bright, everything turned a yellowish orange, and I saw flashing sparkles everywhere.

I had a small concision about 4 years ago and sometimes when I'm zoned out is see everything in dejavu. It's fucked up.

Anyone ever go into a seizure? I've never siezed but I also hit my head, siezed and got a s brown hemmorage and concussion

I saw vivid blue and purple when I hit my head- and you shouldn't have slept. No matter how small the concussion is, sleeping immediately after is a bad idea.

I hit a 40 ft jump (40 to knuckle) and I caught an edge on the jump, landed right on my head about 15 ft from the end of the landing

took a cork 9 to the thug zone in slush and caught my edge. Same sorta thing for me with vivid colors. In the future don't go to sleep though, you want to stay awake as long as possible after a concussion and have someone around to check on you

I banged my head pretty hard earlier this season when I wasn't wearing a helmet. I nollied off a box and caught tips in a bomb hole. I proceeded to yard sale everything and when I got up I felt like I was hammered and I couldn't even remember what feature I fell on. Ski patrol came up to me when they saw me walking aimlessly at the bottom of the run and told me it was probably a good idea to go home with someone.

Part of my head feels fuzzy/numb kind of. Hoping it goes away soon and things get back to base level. Only been a week and a half since the last one though. Hoping I don't get headaches for a long time this time.

blind surface swap edge catch to head smack on east coast ice left me feeling super woozy. no colors though. i saw more of flashes of light/stars. went away after a little, but i got another headache on the way home

They told you to go home? Shit, I was forced into an ambulance with a guy that looks like Lt. Winters from Band of Brothers. I didn't black out but I was diving and out of reality for a good 4 hours with my helmet on and all.

I did. Was knocked out for a minute and I guess my legs started shaking and I was twitching. I came too pretty quickly. After seeing the doctors later one they said that the concussion wasn't necessarily that bad but sometimes if you're dehydrated or haven't eaten enough you can be more likely to have a seizure if you hit your head hard enough.

Definitely not a good idea. Supposed to stay up for a while after. Also I remember if it's bad you're supposed to wake them up a couple times throughout the first night to make sure they're still alive.


Something like that. I'm an expert in getting concussions but not so much in remembering what to do.

Well I was pretty out of it but I was aware enough to not want to pay hundreds for an ambulance so I made some shit up. I still couldn't remember where I fell so I made something and kept saying I'll be fine. My brother came up and said he was going to keep an eye on me as well.

But every time I've talked to patrol at Afton they've been super chill and let you make most of the medical decisions within reason. However they still told me they would kick me out if they saw me lapping the park again that night haha

Got mine DH biking a while ago. I went over the bars and instantly saw static (like a blank channel on the TV), and heard the highest-pitch scream I could imagine. Nobody else was with me (which was stupid on my part), so idk if I seized or anything while I was out.

I woke up some time later, and knew both wrists were broken, but didn't notice anything with my head until I got up. I stood, and a fizzing black mass filled half of my right eye's vision. Got scared and knew I had to get down the last half of the trail to patrol.

Rode it down to patrol, and they immediately call an ambulance. They strap me to a back board. And I start hallucinating. I thought I was back up on the trail, where I had crashed, with piles of logs holding me down so I couldn't get up. I could see faces, but their voices were distant and unintelligible. I begged them to help me up, but they did nothing. This seemed to go on for hours, from the patrol station, to the ambulance, to the LifeFlight Heli, and I thought I was still on the mountain.

Shit sucks.

Rest/sleep is no bad thing, but someone should come and check on you every hour to 90 minutes, to check that you're still able to speak/your eyes look normal/you're alive
