zflinkJust sent in my deposit a few days ago. Anybody else going there/go there? Hows the ski scene, seems like the club runs a good number of trips.
Belongs in regionals or non-ski gabber, but I'll bite. I'm a senior at NU. Loved it here and I've done a ton of skiing during the past four years. You can always find people willing to go up to the mountains. Key is making friends with people who have second homes up in VT, NH, ME, etc. and getting invited along on trips.
The ski club is called nu downhillers and they run trips to most major mountains in New England. I've been on a couple of those. Fun with a good party atmosphere, but not cheap. Most people who tag along on those aren't that serious about skiing, but are still good people. There are always one or two solid kids who want to lap the park/shred woods on pow days. My advice to you would be to go on a few trips freshman year and then try to get elected to the club's E-board. Those guys get to go on all of the trips for free and it isn't too much extra work. The way to do it is to be really tight with the current E-board members. If you're into big mountain, check out NUHOC (forget what the acronym stands for). They're an outdoors club that has a cabin up in the white mountains.
Hope this helps. PM me if you need any more advice in general about NU/Boston.
