What's going to happen to Stept?

Other film companies, such as Poor Boyz or Level 1, employ people from around the world to film/edit their movies and continue to produce a film each year. Because Stept's film/editing is primarily done by the Martini brothers, what's going to happen to Stept when the Martini's move on from creating ski movies, once they finally get sick of living the ski-bum lifestyle?

I know there are at least a couple more guys besides the martinis on stept that are heavily involved in cinematography and editing. Those guys will probably step up or/they'll hire new people/a combo of both.

Cam Riley is a director as well and a cinematographer, Clayton Vila's also killing it in editing. Also finding other filmers/editors in the ski industry isn't difficult at all haha.

It just wouldn't be the same without the original crew. In Mutiny, Clayton said that the extent of the ski industry to them was only their group of friends. Personally, I just can't see who they would want to run Stept if their group of associates is so exclusive. Let-alone be able to produce films as high-quality as before. Those are some pretty big shoes to fill...

Rage still makes a bunch of surf movies and i have seen some things they have done on off-road racing as well.

Im sorry but without martini stept is nothing, maybe cam can keep it up but once that generation is gone nobody out of stept is even on their level

Stept is a company that both martini brothers have put a lot of blood and sweat into for over 10 years. Id be surprised if they just walk away and say fuck it

You guys mostly upload stuff to Vimeo, which doesn't make money directly. Merchandise? iTunes? Don't need details but would love to hear a bit more about what its like to be on the business side of a production company like yours. -Mr.Bishop

Nick Martini: We have to be constantly adjusting our business plan because of how rapidly the film industry is changing. Sales of our ski film, both digital and retail, have never been very lucrative. At Stept we are working our hardest to acquire commercial film work to supplement the lack of income. Our goal is to make Stept Studios a sustainable production business that can make a ski film as a passion project, without worry about funding, monetizing hits, or sponsors, ect. We want make sure we never have change our ski content because of money.

If this is legit then Stept seem pretty committed to continuing their ski work. Mutiny was a banger of a film and I definitely cant wait for their next one!

Mutiny was just meh. The style of editing seemed like it was edited by everyone separately and then just tossed together. I think they need to back off of the dramatic hardships that they think urban skiing is and put out a movie that isnt so serious.

My opinion is the opposite. In today's world, we are saturated with edits of every kind and stept's cinematography and "storyline" per se set them apart from just another edit. It's a movie

Dont get me wrong I love their movies but i jjst think mutiny was over the top. And the story line to was pretty confusing and weak

It'll be whoever the next generation of stept riders are that edit and put out the films. To be honest the could edit the movies until hey were 90 so i'm sure the movies won't ever stop coming.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but how could you say something like that!? Mutiny for me is GOAT. They created an unreal vibe which was extrememly dark, but I found it to be a breath of fresh air in a stale industry. We dont need another meandering "hurr durr having fun movie." I also thought the soundtrack was unreal and complimented the atmosphere of the movie very well.
