Just listened to some Sum 41 for no reason and remembered how much better that movement was than EDM.


Just through on some yellowcard(Don't that's my jam) and might even wonder back to some NFG to finish off the night.


Anybody else miss pop punk bands?

Tigers Jaw are so so so fucking good too! I am still so bummed over the fact that they took their little hiatus JUST when they were supposed to play in Stockholm last summer, when touring with Menzingers.
Also, I have no idea whats in the water of Scranton, PA, but jesus Christ, they're doing something right over there, thats for sure!

Yes I did!! not gonna lie i've been sleeping on them, I just started listening to them this month but they're fuckin brilliant. I can't wait to see them when they come to CT in July

Also they're fucking rad because they are one of the only bands I've seen who will interact with their fans via social media or whatever willingly. Like I have my LastFM post to my twitter my most listened to artists for the week and for the past couple Pentimento has been a part of it. they followed me and favorited it and thanked me for supporting them, not going to get any more respectful than that and I appreciate bands who take the time to do that

When watching the xgames this year I realized the music had finally gone full retard. The backround music was horrible, the music during they're shitty montages every 5 seconds was horrible.

If they had just played some old pop punk it would have been a lot better.

I am not sure why I never got in to it... I was a youngin' when it was in it's prime, and my older brother was really big in to it and he always drove me around. Literally the only way I heard new music in elementary school was riding in my bro's car. He listened to rap like Diplomats, 50 Cent, DMX, Ludacris, all the early 2000's stuff... as well as shit like Sum 41, Papa Roach, Circa Survive, etc.. but all that stuck with me was the rap music and that's all I listened to until a few years ago. Still can't get down with this type of music I'm not sure why.

Damn. The good thing with music is you can always enjoy it but it was nice to have that in the main culture(If you were into it)

I used to be huge into bmx and there was a ton of pop punk in the videos. Even the ski videos back then.

Honestly I kind of grew up in the end of the wave. I'm 25 but I wasn't really listening to much of it till the end of the 90s and by the mid 200s it was pretty much dead.

I mean I listened to it all but I wasn't old enough to go to shows or anything until it was dying out. It was the perfect music for that time in my life though like just before and after junior high.

I still love the older bands (Blink-182, Fall Out Boy, New Found Glory ... etc), but there are Plenty of good up-and-coming pop punk bands today. What I'm currently listening to:

Knuckle Puck
Handguns
Forever The Sickest Kids
Me vs Hero

"newer" pop punk bands' concerts are SO much fun. I've been to all kinds of concerts but these are my favorite.

Mine too. I was a fan of their old stuff but when I first heard The Greatest Generation I was blown away. Musically that album is on a whole new level. I caught them at The Summit in denver last march and they put on one of the best shows I've ever been to. So much energy and so into it.

I know about dookie. It has some great songs. However, Green Day's best three songs are Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Holiday, and Good Riddance. I can't give Dookie the best album distinction when it doesn't even have one of their top 3 songs.

I'm definitely not biased towards music I listened to when I was younger. For me their newer stuff, while being musically brilliant, felt watered down. It was lacking hint of energy their older stuff had. It's all opinion.
