Is there a thread about this? Just noticed this and seems like a pretty big change. Thoughts?
Don't really get how it could be a security problem

Note: We no longer accept embed code in the forums. You can only use URLs from supported sites (NS, YouTube, Vimeo, EpicTV, Brightcove). Sorry, it was a really big security problem and we're not putting it back.

It's been addressed in a few threads about the layout change. I went back and forth with Bishop about this. It apparently is a security problem so they removed it.

The new way to embed is just like you would an image, just instead of "img" use "video"

So its, [ video ]www.youtube.com/fakevideo[ /video ] Just obviously don't include the spaces inside the brackets.

The security issue is that within embed code could be anything...it can modify the site (several times certain threads had random stuff all over it...once the word "penis" was written in green on every page of the site). Modifying the page is only part of it, embed codes can lead to phishing, scams, and viruses as well. It is proving to be a major security issue across the web, and NS isn't the only site stopping embed codes.
