What is the action sport media world needing?

Hello all fellow NSers,

Quick serious post here. I am currently in the process of working a series of personal projects for the Media world.

As you are all aware, skiing is very season and can only be filmed and shot for a good 1/3rd of the year. The rest of the time leaves many of us wanting to go out and do various activities and film them.

My question to you all is this: Where do you think the Action sport scene has need for improvement or visibility? This can range from sports that are not public seen to things that are awesome to watch.

Secondly: Besides action sports - what other things do you all enjoy watching wither it movies or not, just as specific as possible.

Sorry after rereading the thread I made I realize that it was very vague and not well worded so allow me to clarify.

In action sports there are many sports that either don't get enough coverage, or not the proper coverage to the mainstream media. I am asking you NS to help fill me in on any sports that many people over look or have the wrong perception on.

For the second question I was mainly asking what types and forms of media do the people of NS like to watch besides skiing and actions sports?

I think I know what you mean... Are you basically asking, "what differs from mainstream sports vs. action sports?".

I've been wondering the same thing for a while now. Here's what I thought may be playing a role:

Lots of popular sports are team sports. Fans get attached to a team, rather than an individual. This leads to them being more devoted fans for a longer period. For example, if I like the Canucks I can like them for my whole life-time; they aren't going anywhere. Where with skiing, if I really like T-Wall his career is definitely not going to last as long as a hockey franchise. When he retires, I end up having to find some other skier to be a fan of... Of course there are still huge sports like golf that have a big audience, but I think the whole factor of skiing being an individual sport makes a factor.

That makes no sense.

What I meant to say is, skiing being an individual sport plays a role in why it's not broadcasted to a greater audience
