The argument is not how to stop murder altogether, because that will never happen. The argument is how can we make it slightly harder to have murderous people to not get weapons. Said it 1 million times background checks and psychological evaluations before you get a gun, then once you're deemed fit. you have to be responsible for that gun at all times so it can't fall into the hands of a child that will use it. My problem with that is that what if it doesn't work and people continue committing mass shootings? Do we just violate the second amendment among other rights even more? See thats the problem with solving a problem through violating our rights. Yeah it sucks that some people are souless and kill people. But our solution to that problem can't be to violate all of are rights granted to us. If we take away our rights one by one and the killings continue than eventually we'll have no rights.

Whats ironic about this whole debate though is that when you look at it from a philosophical point of view, both sides ultimately want the same thing. I think its safe to assume that you and I both would love to live in a world absent of murder. That would be freaking fantastic. Realistically however, that kind of world is completely 100% unrealistic. People have been killing people every single day throughout the history of man-kind. Its gut-wrenching to those who have morals, but its still a fact nonetheless. See I've accepted that this is our world. Thats why I don't understand the idea that we can politically manipulate a society to become absent of murder. That kind of ambition is literally impossible. The likelihood of a me turning into the Hulk is sadly greater than that of living in a murder-free society.

The impossibility of no murder however doesn't mean that we can't decrease the rate of murder in our society. Now you can either do that by stripping every natural right a man has making him nothing more than a piece of meat. Or by doing the opposite of that by empowering the individual with rights, with the right to protect ourselves with the force of a weapon being the most empowering. So thats our choice, and I choose to have my rights.

The piece of shit that shot up Arapahoe would of most definitely passed a psych exam and I background check. To say that 100% of the psychopaths would be caught as a result of a pysch exam or a background check is ridiculous. I can guarantee you that'd be impossible.

And I disagree with the notion that parents should allow their children access to their guns. Of course you have to educate them about guns before you do so, but why should parents and not children only be granted the right to bear arms. What if a kid is home alone and an armed intruder enters the home and the kid can't the gun to stop him? If you'd seriously be in favor of a kid being defenseless in that kind of situation than I question your morals.

The liberal solution to that problem of course would be to make it illegal for kids to be home alone. See thats why liberalism doesn't work. Their solutions to problems only create more problems for not only those who their targeting, but everyone else as well.
