surface swaps are when you do a switch up on a rail without jumping.

Wrong-o. Swaps are short for surface swaps which mean you are spinning on the rail without coming off. Switch ups are when you hop and spin, leaving the rail for a brief moment

I'm almost positive you are wrong. But I don't even know if you can be wrong? It's the name of a ski trick, probably the most unofficial thing in the world.
