I used to have a totally badass toyota echo that my teammates carried across a field once as a freshman hazing. Took me forever to get it out cause they aren't exactly off road vehicles.

Meaning you and a few friends go, put a smartcar on some kind of wheeled cart, then push it to a space that is far from where their car is, then just leave it.

A buddy from work told me a story of he and 5 or 6 friends picked one up and moved it across the street. He was a big guy but not huge and I don't think those cars weigh all too much.

I disapprove of this only because it's too fucking obvious. It's like TPing a house. If you are going to prank someone, do something original. If you are going to do something with someones smart car, pose it. Leave it sitting up on a park bench, or leave it in someones hot tub. There are so many hilarious things that a few guys could do with a smart car. Put it in an elevator or on a subway car. Get a few of them and hang them from a tree like Christmas ornaments.

its not that I hate small, fuel efficient cars. Its that for most people there are MANY better options than a smart car. Smart cars are expensive, too small to be practical for most Americans, and should get 2x the gas mileage they get for their size/weight. not very smart. and yes theyre gay too, americans realize this and thats why they sell like shit here

if youre trying to be green dont get a fuckin hybrid, the electrical components cause 40 tons of co2 emissions or some shit,you gotta drive hundreds of thousands of miles to make up for that in fuel savings. get a small diesel car, or even better convert to biodiesel. hybrids are for posers

I was just in the bay area for vacation, the local news report on this was hilarious. Most of the Smartcars have been rentals, so I think it's kinda ok if that happens. But what the person above was saying: The entire city hates the police there, they break the law just to piss them off. All the cruisers have riot related damage, and a lot of the street art is anti-authoritarian.

i agree with a lot of what you said but it doesn't really argue my point-- no, smart and hybrid cars arent amazing but that doesnt explain people's disproportionate hate for them

I don't necessarily hate the cars, I just hate the people driving them. I don't think I have ever come across a Prius or Smart that was driving at or above the speed limit. They are ALWAYS driving extra slow to increase their fuel mileage. Not only that, but those drivers are like people who do Crossfit or vegans - they never shut the fuck up about it.

"Oh my god, you'll never believe it! I averaged 41 MPG on my 4 hour trip to Whole Foods! I also averaged 41 MPH because I am a gigantic fucking idiot!"

Fuck hybrid drivers.

I feel you on the stereotypes. I'm a valet and probably at least half of the cars we get are key-less. On occasion, someone will let me know it's key-less, but most people assume that someone who parks hundreds of different types of cars has seen a key-less car before, considering the technology is a few years old now. It's always the Prius owner who rolls up and feels the need to explain to me how a key fab works, or asks me if I "know how to drive a car like this." Always tempted to be like, "Damn, I reckon this must be one of them future cars." On top of that, I'd say 98.67% of the Prius's that show up, have reusable, canvas Whole Foods bags somewhere in the car, and is usually tuned into XM Coffehouse or has a Jack Johnson CD lying around somewhere haha

its slow, boring, and isn't the long term answer. Its not even that cheap, i could get a used wrx for the same price. If you want an electric/hybrid that will capture the people who want driving to be a rush, the smart car is clearly not going to work. Tesla and Mercedes seem to at least grasp that.

And truck commercials say everything that isn't their truck is gay.

Jeeps? Really? They actually get places. Unlike 95%of hybrids. I don't know about you, bit I literally could not get home if I didn't own a 4wd vehicle in the winter.And neither could most of my town. Nor could I go anywhere to hike, climb etc. I couldn't take bikes, my kayaks, haul my boat, or haul anything.
Hummers though....those things are a strait up dickshow.

ok in the snow, id take a hummer over a jeep in the snow any day because jeeps are basically a aluminum can with 4wd. a hummer is around a 5-11 ton case of steel with 4wd. hippies beware, the hummer eats gas like steve harvey eats chicken.

Most pickups with decent tires do just fine in the snow. You need need a $100k hummer h1.. or the ugly fucking h2's and H3's to handle snow

Depends a lot on what you're running. A jeep with DTT LSD's will be much better over an open diff h2 or h3.

Jeeps really aren't that good compared to most suvs and crossovers these days. They get poor gas mileage and are tippy and kind of sketchy in snow. I guess i should specify that I'm primarily talking about wranglers. They just seem like an outdated design that excels at literally nothing, except maybe having the ability to take the top off really easily.
But yeah, hummers are some real fuckery.
