So a guy came to my work today and gave me his pair of j skis steve stepp model when the heel piece pulled out. The tech at the shop, not wanted to deal with it, just said the core is cracked and its ruined. Took the ski to my other work and some much more reputable guys said the core is fine, just that the top sheet and the layer of fiber glass under the heel piece is delamed, possibly due to a bad mount and it ripping out. We were thinking of cutting out that section of the ski and getting some prepreg fiberglass to patch it up. Ski was mounted 2.5cm back from center with fks's so i shouldn't have an issue mounting some salomon or head bindings at dead center. What do you guys think?
