Another season is coming to an end here in the east, so lets share all the good times we had this season. Post a funny story or a new trick you learned this season, pictures, edits.... fuck it just anything you did this season worth remembering
Me and my best friend hot lapped park topless the whole day when It was like 45 back in February. Got some nice ice rash but it was worth it haha. I did a hippy killer that day too completely on accident to avoid a fall and stomped it. Then I tried doing it again for like 3 days and couldn't get it back. Hahaha we did some urban shit too which was cool. It was my first year doin that stuff
PCMR got 14" or so inches overnight. it was mad busy, like hour long lines to get to the goods. only was able to get in like 6 runs, but it was fucking worth it. me and my good pal james (PCJibber on NS) ducked into these trees, poked around and found picture perfect runs. nice little wide chute thingy in the trees that was too good to be true. absolute whiteroom all the way down, still gives me the chills thinking about how epic that run was.
Went skiing after getting 6 inches and it was still coming down (keep in mind MN so that was a good amount). It was like a day or two after Joss, Gus, and Nick swept the podium. The hill was packed and there was a huge group of guys dressed in Jamaican bobsled team uniforms, different country flags and other funny gear. I rode up the lift with a few of them and they were all super stoked the whole day and were all really funny. I lapped this one run basically the entire day because there's a ditch off to the side of it and it kept filling up with snow. No one was skiing it and it was just deep and awesome. Then I rode up the lift with a snowboarder chick who was super chill and really good at boarding. Got to lap with her a few times which was really fun. Yeah that day was the highlight of my season. By myself all day but got to hang out with some really cool, totally stoked people. 12pm-9pm non-stop that day.
Today my friend boosted off some cliff to flat, instantly double ejected. Probably one of the funniest things I've witnessed this season. Textbook tomahawking.
One of the little shit mountains I go to out here in the east got around 30 inches in 48 hours. The resort didn't groom anything and no one could drive there because of the roads so it was empty except for my Dad and I. One of the best times I've had skiing by far.
finally skied a big steep line movie style- big fast GS turns with a big air at the top, into a dogleg right chute/straightline, into a smaller cliff band at the bottom. It felt goddamn amazing.
Took the bigggest fall of my life on the same line the first time i tried skiing it movie style. got offline at the top cliff and ended up sending a tripple line to pinball off a rock to full on tomahawk for 30 yards off a 15 footer.
Finally was able to push my skis hard enough to find that point where they shine above all other skis(OG 191 Billy Goats).
Met a really, really cool group of dudes all right around my skill level to shred with on pow days.
Got a pass at a new mountain and found a whole bunch of really fun areas to explore. Now i feel very comfortable skiing the gnar there even in shit vidibility.
Did a couple overnight trips sleeping in my car parked in the parking lot so i wouldnt have to deal with pass closures or shitty snow drivers. Really fucking cool driving totally deserted mountain roads with high beams on, stoned, at 3 am with the the snow absolutely puking. I actually found a fucking super legit setup in my 4runner that is perfect for my large ass 6'4" self.
I dont progress linearly or consistently. What happens is there is just a day, or a trip where things come together and i make large leaps in my skiing. I had 2 seperate instances of that this year which was fucking awesome and super addictive.
I finally came out to my coworkers that i am a skier, i havent actually been sick in 5+ years, and all my sick days during the winter are used for skiing. They were very accepting. I am now able to take off damn near any day i please with a minimum 5 days heads up. pretty darn legit setup.
This year I found an area that was untouched, I was shredding some pow and was completely alone listening to some reggae. I felt the dopamine release in my brain. It was one of the coolest feelings I've ever felt.
And yeah, that's the definition of every week of February in good ol' Washington.
Any one of the days with enough fresh to go exploring off-trail with the homies is the best
The first time I've ever been to Carinthia, their parks are like something out of a dream
Also had one day which was otherwise completely normal except my skiing was so fucking dialed. Learned 3 new tricks in one run down the mountain I don't think I've ever been so stoked on my own skiing
Me, my younger brother and two of my mates were skiing off piste, great visibility but most of the pow had been skied out, anyway one of my mates hasn't skied much off piste before and normally only skis groomers. Anyway basically to get back on to the piste there was a little 3 foot drop onto it, and not thinking my mate who is slightly more competent at skiing, my brother and myself all came straight off of it, skied to the edge of the piste to stop to make sure my other mate was ok. He leaned forward coming off of it so far that both tips dug into the piste and he double ejected face first onto the hardpack. Coincidentally all our parents came round the corner just as he was about to drop off it. One of the funniest moments of the season.
