Just do something that you enjoy, keeps you in shape, and is packed full of adrenaline and terror. Although completely different, if you mountain bike on challenging courses/terrain, hit a motocross track on a dirtbike/ street race a motorcycle, longboard down mountain roads, or rollerblade, it will keep your confidence up come ski season even though they are completely different. Just keep challenging your comfort level and park skiing will be easier to get into. Doesn't take long to get the hang of it come a new season, and even rollerblading won't keep you on top of your game since skiing is still different.
Plus, then if something happens to you and park skiing is no longer an option, you will have no problem adjusting to something new.
