All mountain skis or powder skis?

If the snow is 2 ft. of fresh snow I personally would go for all mountain skis cause I dont want to be floating on the top of the snow I want snow in my face all the way down the run but if I wanted to do tricks I would want a little bit fatter than all mountain so I dont hit the snow and just tomahawk down.
