except these people know that they are the other gender. Plus they wouldn't complain that they wanted a dick if you just let them fucking get one. so really you are the one who is complaining and making a big deal about it.

there are plenty of "first world problems" that we should still adress. treating mentally ill, improving education systems, banning shit like dogfighting, etc,etc,etc are all first world problems. people don't give a fuck about that kind of stuff in poor countries. That doesn't mean we shouldn't address those things.

It doesn't really matter what your opinion is though. If I hear people talk like that in real life, I fuck up their property. Usually just empty out their tires but sometimes slash them and key their car. stupid fuckers.

well I agree with this. I mean there are christians and other idiots who actually believe in god haha.

but they don't "think" they are the other gender. they like literally are in their brains. There is a lot more to your gender than what organs you have. don't try and tell me that men and women are the exact same except for our genitalia.

an operation won't solve anything whether it is a depressed person or a man trapped in a female body. health insurance should cover spreadable/passable disease and viruses. you aren't going all the sudden become a women trapped in a mans body because you made contact with a man trapped in a woman body. They people who have gender ID issues, it is all mental problems, and no health insurance should cover it, just like health insurance shouldn't cover depression, anxiety, anger issues, etc.

ok. I guess this is fair.

if you think health insurance should only cover spreadable diseases then what you say is less offensive.

however I personally think it would be messed up to not treat cancer, diabetes, heart disease, broken bones, cataracts, and all those other non-passable problems.

Ok so I missed this post first time around.


You could look at someone who was depressed and say ok, their brain chemistry is malfunctioning. Here is the problem in their brain. The BEST option for them is to treat them with hormones and drugs to combat it, and yet it still fails sometimes. Now imagine that instead of treating them with drugs and hormones,there was an operation to send them from group "A" (depressed) to group B (not depressed, and it was MUCH more successful than the hormones and helped way more people. Transgenderism is the same sort of problem except drugs don't help because they still have to identify with one or the other Especially living in a society with such strict gender roles, you HAVE to identify wholeheartedly with one gender or the other. You went to school, you know what it's like for a feminine guy in a public school system, his life is fucking hell. And what you have to truly understand is that as a depressed person, you are not forced to identify all day every day whether you are depressed. You aren't forced to decide if you think you look happy enough to use the happy bathroom instead of the depressed bathroom, even though you know inside you would be more comfortable in the happy bathroom, you identify with everyone as being depressed and they would degrade you and hate you for going in to the wrong one.

Also, just thought of this.
Your subconscious and your identity are MUCH harder to change than your physical appearance. Like you said, a sex change is moving from Group A to Group B from a physical stand point. And the only way these people are ever going to be happy and to be legitimate happy members of society is to switch from group A to group B, and doing that thru a sex change is much easier than trying to shift their subconscious and their very being from group A to group B.

Actually, having travelled and volunteered in western Africa(Cant vouch for somalia) , I can tell you for sure there are gay people and transgendered people. You usually don't hear much about it they get put in mental hospitals or are sentenced to death.

Yeah, but they don't kill themselves because of issues directly generated from the fact that they are comfortable with the gender, as is the case with trans who commit suicide. "Cis" people have OTHER issues, that we try to help them with. They aren't just manic depressive and we go oh that sucks kill yourself... Haha your little attack on my logic doesn't make any sense. I said that a lot of trans do in fact kill themselves, and kill themselves directly because of issues stemming from their gender identity. Show me some "cis" people that killed themselves because they had issues that you would just say "that sucks, a bullet to the brain could help that" .....

Really, think about what you are saying

it all boils down to cost benefit, just because something can save a life doesn't mean we should do it.

if you were climbing mount Everest and someone in your team breaks his leg at the summit and trying to bring him down will almost certainly kill everyone in your group, should you do it?

it is the same thing here, far more people are dying because they cant afford insurance and therefore wait to long before getting help, then there are people dying because they aren't getting hormone treatment.

around .5% of people are apparently transgendered, compare that to the astonishing 15% of Americans who don't have any health insurance. Anybody with some sort of moral guidance would agree that we should focus on the 15% before the .5%

i took a sexuality class so i'm a pro at sex and knowin about sexuality n shit. gender is a very grey area, while society forces us into either male or female gender identities. there are other (albeit lesser known) cultures where there are 4, 10, even 15 different genders and different roles for each gender. And like transsexualism, transgender has roots in genetics, as well as chemical/hormonal exposure prenatally. trans people aren't fucked in the head (some are), often a combination of things happened before they were born to determine their sex in a way that isn't necessarily congruent with their gender identity.

all in all don't judge people, assume you don't know shit and learn to accept differences.

...If I was the mom (and not in a dumbass country that hates women to the point where they'd allow that case to see even a half-second in court) I'd have sued him back twice over, first for being the one who's actually ugly, and 2nd for being dumber than shit.
